This brave and courageous mother of three will share her story of losing her husband while pregnant with their third child and the process it took for her to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart and walk into her new role as a single mom. Mary Wade is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Director of Prevention Intervention for the Paulding County School District. In her current role, she manages the mental health initiatives in the school district including suicide prevention, school-based therapy services, and mental health crisis intervention. She is Board Certified in School Crisis Response by the National Center for Crisis Management. Mary is a certified trainer for Youth Mental Health First Aid; Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR); and Sources of Strength. She is a licensed Restorative Practices trainer and an Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Consultant/Trainer. Mary is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and she obtained her master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. She is married with a blended family of six children, one son-in-law, and two beautiful grandchildren. Mary is the author of the blog, Widow Plus Three where she has written of her journey through losing her first husband unexpectedly while pregnant with her third child. Mary founded a community group for widows in 2013 and continues to mentor newly widowed women in her community.
