Today we are joined by Jason Stone on episode 47 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Jason Stone is currently the Applied Sports Science Coordinator of the Cincinnati Reds where he focuses on applying practical, technical, and tactical health, performance, and human movement skill enhancement protocols across the Reds organization, with a special focus on Minor League player development, that revolves around baseball’s key performance indicators. Prior to working with the Reds, Jason worked at West Virginia University as the Performance Specialist of the Men's Basketball Team, as well as being a Senior Research Specialist. Jason also worked at The Ohio State University as their Performance/Sports Scientist. Prior to his time at OSU, Jason spent three years with Texas Christian University (TCU), in their research department. All this after being an Assistant Researcher for the Air Force Research Laboratory. Jason is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Applied Sports Science from West Virginia University. He earned his Master's in Exercise Science from TCU and attended Miami University where he received his MS in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Today we are joined by Dr. Cathy Saenz on episode 46 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Dr. Saenz is currently an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at The Ohio State University, as well as an independent Consultant for a wide range of populations and specifications with private and public companies, sports teams, and individuals on topics spanning physiology, exercise physiology, nutrition, and exercise metabolism. Prior to her time at The Ohio State University, Cathy was an Assistant Professor at Jacksonville University and a Post Doctorate Fellow of Nutrition and Sports Science with the Cleveland Guardians. Dr. Saenz earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from The Ohio State University as well as her Master's Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut. This episode is filled with information about the ins and out of sports nutrition at the collegiate level and what it takes to keep athletes competing at their very best.

Prior to his time playing professional lacrosse Mark was a broker on Wall Street with BGC. Matt studied and played his college lacrosse at Yale University, where he earned a degree in Economics. Trent has recently been appointed the Head Coach of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Women's Volleyball Team starting in 2023. Coach Kersten was previously the Head Coach of San Jose State University's Women's Volleyball Team where he lead the Spartans in three very successful seasons. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Coach at Texas Christian University (TCU). Trent attended UCLA where he played on the Men's Volleyball team where he lead UCLA in both hitting percentage and blocks per set. Once his playing career came to an end, Trent decided to pursue his passion for the game as a coach. Today we are joined by Zac Woodfin on Episode 40 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Zac is a well-respected leader in the strength and conditioning community, is the USFL’s Director of Player Performance and Wellness, and oversees the League’s athletic performance training staff. Zac has held previous positions at the University of Missouri as Director of Athletic Performance, Kansas (2017-19) and Southern Miss (2015-16). In 2014, Woodfin won the FootballScoop award while serving as head strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, UAB. Zac also spent time in the NFL as both a player and coach as he was with the Greenbay Packers for three seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and spent time in the NFL as a player with the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans. Woodfin graduated from UAB in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a concentration in fitness leadership.
