Social Work chose me, low-key. I am a community Social Worker.
I have always been in social work, even when I did not know about social work.
Social work is defined as (We have three different definitions of social work):
Google: Work done by trained professionals to help people with social disadvantages or personal problems.
University of Buffalo: Social work is a profession in which trained professionals are devoted to helping vulnerable people and communities work through challenges they face in everyday life
National Association of Social Workers: The primary mission of the social work profession is to enhance human well-being and help meet basic and complex needs of all people, focusing on those who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty.
The are 6 Core Values of Social Work and they are:
Service
Social justice
Dignity and worth of the person
Importance of human relationships
Integrity
Competence
There are three sections of Social Work:
Micro-Social Work-Think one-on-one, clinical and case management
Macro-Social Work- Think Policy, Research and Lobbying
Mezzo-Social Work-Think Specific groups to work with such as a group home, addiction, LGBTQ+, teen parents, incarnated parents, singles moms or dads etc. 1.) HealingSheGotFaith Talk Show releases every Monday at 3:00 PM CST.
