In this solo episode, I share both my past and current relationship with alcohol, why I am starting to question it, and what I am doing to work on it. It is an area in which I have felt very alone at times, so if this episode helps just one person feel less alone in their relationship with alcohol, then my job here is done. On the flip side of that, if a conversation about drinking and alcohol is triggering for you in any way, you might want to skip this episode.
Disclaimer: I am not categorizing alcohol or drinking as “Healthified.” I am not promoting it in any way. I think everyone’s relationship with alcohol - just like with food - is completely unique and individual to them. For some people the most Healthified way to approach alcohol is abstinence; for others they might have a good handle on moderation. You do you when it comes to alcohol, I just wanted to share my story in case it resonates with anyone or impacts anyone in a positive way. "Healthified" implies that we are works in progress. There is always something in our lives we can do, tweak, change, improve upon to become healthier versions of ourselves.

Today’s guest is Chelsea J. O’Leary, a Nashville-based artist, entrepreneur, and home food preserver. She is the founder and owner of Wiley Canning Company, a company dedicated to canning, pickling, and preserving local and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Her first book, The Wiley Canning Company Cookbook, is now available. Chelsea creates recipes and hosts workshops to teach others to can, pickle, and preserve as well. She explores photography through both a film and digital format, and she is especially drawn to photographing fruits and vegetables.

When she is not canning, pickling, preserving, or creating photographs, she values and seeks meaningful, curiosity-driven dialogue with others. She loves to write and run, in the woods or through the city, and she cherishes time spent with her husband, Jared, and son, Sullivan. You might find them at a local farmers’ market, park, or nearby wooded trail.

Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Otterbein University and a Food Product Development Certificate from Cornell University.
