On this episode of the Healthy + Happy Podcast, Dr. Slade is talking with special guest, Dr. Ingrid Clayton. Ingrid and Dr. Slade discuss childhood trauma (specifically the attachment trauma that can occur when a child is raised by a narcissistic parent(s).)
Ingrid Clayton, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and author. Her latest book is Believing Me: Healing from Narcissistic Abuse and Complex Trauma. Additionally, she is a contributor to Psychology Today where her article, “What is Self-Gaslighting?” was considered an Essential Read. Ingrid has been interviewed for countless publications including Women’s Health Magazine and a guest on many podcasts including The Healing Trauma Podcast.
While Ingrid has a clinical background, she believes there is no theory, diagnosis, or therapy that can replace the power of shared experience. Her recent memoir is written from the gut, from the heart, where all of our hurt lives—so it speaks the same language.
In addition to raising her beautiful son, Ingrid believes that gaining the courage to write this book is her greatest achievement to date.
