  • The Start-Up Guide To Starting A Stretch Mobility Coaching Business with Alex Engar

Starting a stretch mobility business can make us feel like there are too many steps, too many things to do. You might not know where to start, or what you need to do next. So what's the first step of setting up your business, and how do you get clients to keep coming back for more? What are the things to consider before getting started?

Welcome to the Rehab to Wellness B.O.S.S Podcast! I'm your host, Kim Nartker, PTA. In this week's episode, I am joined by Alex Engar. Alex Engar is one of the co-founders of CEO Finance Academy, which provides financial coaching for small business owners wanting to improve their profitability. Alex grew up in the mountainous terrains of Utah where he developed a knack for entrepreneurship at an early age. After graduating from the University of Utah with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, he quickly realized he wanted something beyond the 9-5 clinical life. This led to co-founding Healthy Funnel (with business partner Will Boyd), a marketing agency and consultancy.

They will touch on such topics as:

    • Why you need to find your niche in providing services to our clients
    • You can take the skills that you learn within healthcare and take it in whatever direction you want. It does not have to be the standard career path that everyone expects.
    • As a new start-up entrepreneur, you need to invest in a membership coach. Your investment in membership or a coaching program will give you more direction, commitment and having someone to go to for a couple little questions along the way.
    • If you are just starting off your business and you’re taking a leap of faith,  you have to first learn how to attract people into your world. If you can't get in front of people and get attention, then you can't move to the next step, which is how to make a sale.
    • What are the typical startup costs? What are the costs of doing a business? How do you calculate if you can afford to go into business?
    • Is it advisable to take out a personal loan to start a business?
    • Before you start your business, make sure you know about your taxes.
    • Business forces you to grow. It forces you to get more responsible. It forces you to get more creative. It forces you to do things that you wouldn't necessarily want to do because it's not in your comfort zone.
