✨ I feel deeply honored & grateful to be sharing with you stories & wisdom from one of my Sistership clients and Soul Sister, Katie Watson. Katie is an incredibly wise woman who shares her stories with honesty, vulnerability and compassion.✨ Katie shares her incredible journey & transformation from Maiden into Mother. Her first birth a free birth turned hospital transfer, her second birth a freebirth at 44 weeks at home with her husband and son.This Episode was recorded on April 2nd 2023Watch Katie Share her stories on Earthing Nova YouTube @amanabelove🌕 Some of what is shared in this episode includes:~ Born and raised in Montana, Katie talks about how the outdoors have shaped her.~ Even though she worked with kids, she didn't know she wanted to be a mother.~ How she went from being oblivious about birth to taking full responsibility of her birth.~ Meeting her husband, surprise pregnancy 4 months later.~ Shifting out of disordered eating in pregnancy.~ Katie’s relationship with her Mother shifting through her pregnancies, setting new boundaries.~ Having an appointment with a midwife and intuitively knowing her vibe was off.~ Hearing about freebirth and deciding that is what she wanted to do.~ The challenges she faced telling the people around her of her freebirthing plans.~ Katie’s perceived difference in contractions with and without pitocin (synthetic oxytocin)~ Being asked to birth on her back and threatened with vacuum & forceps as her son was emerging from her body. Coached pushing.~ Hospital staff pleasantly allowing her to leave after her birth and then contacting CPS without warning & how that “cast a dark cloud over the first weeks of her postpartum.”~ Katie’s second pregnancy. Knowing she wanted to freebirth.~ Moving to a new place in pregnancy, needing some separation from her family for her birth.~ Setting new and clear boundaries with her mother, with strength and love.~ Nursing challenges & aversions during pregnancy. Setting boundaries and consciously, lovingly weaning her son and moving him out of her bed.~ The hardest parts to navigate with her husband and family’s fears. Facing her own fears.~ Being in a new place without in person support in pregnancy and postpartum.~ Fears about baby having his umbilical cord around his neck (nuchal cord) How this can be protective and how babies are born fully with the cord around their neck.
