Happy New Year Gents! Things are going to look different for the podcast and HeartWorking Dad. Hoping this is a year of less of me and more of Him.

Took a long break and coming back to start again. I honestly didn't know if I was going to continue, but I've been encouraged to keep going. This episode was recorded during the break and I went back and forth on whether to publish, but here it is.

Proverbs 10:28  "The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish."

So often I struggle with this as husband and father. One leads to peace while the other leads to frustration and overwhelm.

I watched ESPN 30 on 30 and it was about the boxer Tommy Morrison, most know as Tommy Gunn from Rocky 5.

He had a tragic life, but one that could of been a lot different had his dad led him differently. It made me think of the impact we have as fathers to our children and how vital our example and leadership is needed in guiding our families.

Gratitude can be one of the most simple yet overlooked qualities in men and in the family home. We live in an age where we have so much, that we take for granted the simple. We get in the rat race and try competing with the neighbors on who has the nicest stuff and fancy cars.
