Welcome back to the Heaven Tribe Podcast! Our mission is to help build kingdom marriages to end generational poverty. In this episode, we have James and Latoya Bond. They have been married for 17 years, have 3 beautiful children are business owners. From sharing the story of Bonded Forever they share that communication and friendship are key to a lasting marriage. When you do communicate, have an end goal in mind to ensure your being effective. Also, communicate your expectations of what you want in and for your marriage. Developing a friendship first helps you to see if you are compatible able with the person you are planning to spend the rest of your life with. Lastly, they share how community and having a support system have also helped them in the success of their marriage, raising children, and being business owners. We were blessed by their story and we hope you are too! Follow our Guests: the_dadish on Instagram bonded4ever on Instagram

Welcome to the Heaven Tribe we are a marriage focused movement, building kingdom marriages to end generational poverty. In this episode we are discussing Ephesians 5:21-33, submit one to another! Have you ever heard that and thought, What? Wait? That sounds a little controlling! Or thought, submitting one to another is easy for me, but it's not for my spouse. You are not alone! We discuss both of our experiences and how we first thought what that scripture meant, then was able to apply it the way God intended it to be for our marriage. The word submit was translated from the Greek word "hupotasso, which means under and lift up, or to put in order." (https://guardian.ng/life/the-christian-view-of-submission-in-marriage-is-it-a-womans-call-to-slavery/) From that article, experience, communication and most importantly revelation from Holy Spirit we understood that it's not to control one another ,it is to love each other as we love Christ. Our deep love, reverence for Christ is to be our foundation to love others in our marriage and with others we are in a relationship with.
We share 3 points that helped us and hopefully helps you to live out the scripture the way it was intended.
1. We must first be submitted to Christ! Therefore we learn and are transformed to submit, support, love one another.
2. It's ok to say ok and do it with 100%. Be all in! Do it with the right heart posture! If your heart isn’t t right then you aren’t t doing it in the right spirit, therefore the true transformation wont happen. When you do it with the right intentions, you will feel the hardness of heart fall off and your heart become soft and you will be able to submit, support, love more and more.
3. Submitting to each other is for both, not just the wife to the husband! As husbands submit to Christ they should submit to their wives, that's true submission to Christ.
Be Blessed Tribe! Spread the Word!
Scripture: Ephesians 5:21-33
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[b] 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
