In part 2 of our series, commitment in marriage bible verses, we will be doing a Q&A on the first chapter of the book written by Neil Hawkins, Was Marriage Right For Me?. The title of the first chapter in the book is titled what you think is probably wrong. The scripture used in the first chapter is Genesis 2:24. It explains that a man must leave his father and mother and be joined with his wife, and they both shall become one flesh. We discuss topics of the understanding of marriage, what we originally thought marriage was, and how the word of God changed our mindset of what marriage actually is. Continuing in our series of commitment in marriage, we present bible verses from the book Was Marriage Right For Me? that displays key principles that has helped us stay committed in marriage. In episode 6 we discuss that the greatest gift of love comes from God. God love us so much that he has given us so many gifts. The gift of life, family, peace, and spiritual gifts. In our previous video we discussed the natural talents and spiritual gifts and how we use them. However there is a greater gift that God has given us. Today we talk about the greatest gift of love and how it produces a fulfilling reward. 

Be reminded that gifts are given willingly. In 1 Corinthians 13 1:3 it says "without love any gift we can offer God or others will be for nothing. It later says in 1 Corinthians that love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It continues to state that Love does not rejoice about injustice, but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Last it says that Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

How do we share the gift of love? We look to the greatest example, which is God. When the Bible says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, it lets us know that God loves the world. Understand that what God did was out of love, and it was the greatest example of what love is.
