Harry and Ron (especially Ron) aren't too happy with what just went down in the Forbidden Forest. They followed the spiders and it almost got them killed, so it seems that Ron's great fear of spiders is completely rational. I discuss chapter 15 of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Aragog.
