January 25, 2025Community PsychologyIn today's episode, we explore community psychology. This episode provides a general introduction for the umbrella term of 'community psychology'. Within this umbrella term we will define the broad philosophical assumptions of this way of thinking, understand what it's aims are as well as see how it may influence and work with mental wellbeing. During the episode I mention Bronfenbrenner (1979) - he developed Ecological Systems Theory, which is well worth reading more on if people are interested. I also mentioned the social epidemiologists Wilkinson & Pickett who wrote both The Spirit Level & The Inner Level, which explore how social inequality is related to mental and physical wellbeing.
