There are different types of grippers in robotic that are used to pick and place or perform any desired task. I have discussed about vacuum kind of grippers as they are commonly used and easy to fabricate.  We will be diving into the basics of these grippers and understand the structure and applications of these gripper by taking a live example.

Gripper in robotics are used to complete the activities that are specified to the robot to perform. There are different kinds of grippers that are used to do a particular tasks.

Robots are known to move away from obstacles and reach the goal point. There are some certain situations were the robot doesn't reach the desired position.   In this video let's look at the basic obstacle avoidance algorithm and some if it's limitations

Roomba is a vacuum cleaner robot which is can clean the floor of any room. In a room there are 2 kinds of obstacles one is static and other is dynamic. Static refers to objects which doesn't move like chair, table etc. Dynamic refers to pets, humans walking across the room.  This podcast will help you understand how Roomba robot avoids obstacles and how it navigates around the path rather than colliding with the object.

After building the exoskeleton of a robot it's the time to make it move according to your application. In order to move a part of a robot you need to give a  set of instruction or commands. These commands are given to microcontroller or microprocessor which is connect to the actuator. To know how to tell these set of instructions to the controller you need to know programming languages.  This video is going to help you understand how you can develop your software skills if you are not from software background. I have shared my experience on how I learnt the programming languages and how I built my projects using these languages.

This podcast gives a detailed explanation about how does an assembly of a robot take place and what are the basic mechanical components for each processing operation. Those components are then further divided in how useful it is in the robotic component and what alternatives for the same mechanism could be used. This video dives more into technical and practical implications rather than simple robot theory.
