In Parshat VaYeira, Lot's actions—especially his hospitality amidst Sodom’s corruption—reveal profound themes of hidden holiness. Rebbe Nachman teaches that doing mitzvot with joy enables us to reach the Keter, a spiritual level connecting us to Hashem's infinite light. Lot’s matzah and salt, symbolizing clarity and joy in mitzvot, hint at his hidden desire for righteousness despite his surroundings. From this spark within Lot, souls like Ruth and Naamah emerge, ultimately contributing to the lineage of King David. Through joy and purity in mitzvot, even the smallest acts can bring light and holiness to the world.
