If we can determine what motivates others, we can adapt our style to collaboratively move in the same direction. Regardless of our preferences, we all desire a common goal. And I believe that goal is happiness.

Bored and Brilliant: How Spacing Out Can Unlock Your Most Productive and Creative Self by Manoush Zomorodi

    Written by Leigh Martinuzzi

I am not sure after reading this book I am more brilliant or not. Perhaps that isn’t the purpose. It may be to open our eyes to how cluttered, busy and unnecessary our lives have become. In this book by Manoush Zomorodi, she takes the reader on a journey to unplug and disconnect from our digital lives. How to find greater productivity, creativity and original thought in boredom. It makes perfect sense although I am not sure I was entirely captivated.

If you feel you struggle with digital sabotage, the notion that tech controls you and not the other way around then you may just benefit from reading this book by Manoush Zomorodi. Enjoy!

  • 599 Hate – by Leigh Martinuzzi
“The people we discriminate against in our public policies and in our culture are also the groups of people most likely to be bullied in school. That is not a coincidence. That’s hate!” Sally Kohn

Hate is an intense dislike for someone or something.

Why do we hate? Perhaps the primary reason for the hate is that we believe that someone or something may bring threat to our survival. A threat to our tribe. A threat to our Self, our ego!

Humans need to belong. We need to be part of a group. It not only satiates our sense of well-being, importance and meaning in life but a group provides us protection. These things are essential to our survival.
A threat to our ability to meet this need, real or perceived, produces hate.

That is the topic of today's podcast - Hate. What is it? Why does it exist? How does it work? And how do we overcome it?

Have you ever wondered what makes top athletes like Stephen Curry, Tom Brady, Serena Williams, and Lionel Messi; as well as musical virtuosos, dancers, rock climbers, race-car drivers, and more so successful? Is it merely an innate genius or a skill that they are born with?

Zach, a successful journalist and popular sports writer, was curious and so found himself on a quest to discover what actually drives human movement and its spectacular potential.

Across all sports, new theories and revolutionary technology are revealing how the brain’s motor control system works including the groundbreaking work of two neuroscientists. In this conversation, I discuss with Zach his research as he travelled the world interviewing experts on motor control.

  • 595 Work with People You Want to Work With – by Leigh Martinuzzi
Work with People You Want to Work With

"When you please others in hopes of being accepted, you lose your self-worth in the process." Dave Pelzer

I have spent much energy and time by trying to please everyone, trying to be accepted, trying to be liked but realised I had to change my ways. I began to eliminate those I didn't want to work with, play with, be with, progress with, achieve with and love. It's an elimination tactic that just may help you thrive in what you do.

Don't try fit in for the sake of fitting in. Quality relationships are a fundamental human need, but they won't grow into quality relations if you cannot be yourself.

Have a listen and let me know your thoughts. These are my thoughts. Those from a real estate agents perspective.
