All coaches that you see and admire, started off somewhere. And I want to submit to you that courage is what you need to take the first step, but confidence is a muscle you build as you're walking.

As a coach, and especially in the beginning, you need to have confidence to show up in coaching calls, and more importantly on sales calls.

So, how do I become confident?

The first thing is to recognize that if you can provide someone with transformation and get them from point A to point B and document this process, you are a coach! Even if that person was you. Coaching yourself is one of the hardest things to do.

What up, Squad!

I am excited and super nervous at the same time about this episode.

I realized that this will be a challenging episode because I'm confronting some uncomfortable things. I'm in a really, really uncomfortable place in my business and Productive on Purpose™ podcast.

During my quarterly reviews, I give you guys an update on my business and what's going on behind the scenes because I believe that you can't be what you can't see.

I'm sharing with you guys the real truth of a wife, mom, boss, Christian entrepreneur, who's had a lot of false starts, a lot of failures, but is currently actually thriving - which is bananas!

Last year, I was doing my thing and super comfortable, but I realized that to get to the next level, I was going to have to shift.

From the survey I did last year, I realized that a majority of my community wanted to start businesses.

Shortly after that, I received a DM from a member of the Squad sometime in late December, early January. She asked me if I could recommend a business coach. 

This took me aback because my very first offer, Procrastination to Purpose™, was in fact a business coaching program!

This was a huge wake-up call for me that my messaging was not aligned with the service that I was offering.

Secondly, from the survey, there were people in my community who love what I did BUT didn't know that I was actually selling anything! This made me really pause and reflect.

It was a very humbling moment for me. And I'm grateful for that moment because it catalyzed a ton of shifts for me and my business.

Annette J. Morris, M.A.  is a Professional Mental Health Counselor, Certified Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Published Author, Entrepreneur and Business Consultant. 

Her favorite quote which is the philosophy she lives by is "you will get all you want in life if you help enough people get what they want" by the late Zig Ziglar.

Although Annette has accomplished a lot in life, she had very humble beginnings. She was reared for 23 years in a local housing project by a single mother and had to overcome many obstacles on this journey called life. However, all that she's endured in her past has helped to form the Annette of the present. 

Annette is a first-generation college graduate and has earned a Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology from Southern University of New Orleans, a Master's of Art Degree from Xavier University of Louisiana, Expert Level Life Coaching Certification and Extreme Execution Life Coaching Certification with Dr Eric Thomas.

She's also the first full-time entrepreneur of her family and Owner/Lead Consultant of Goal Getter, LLC. She helps female entrepreneurs discover their God-given gift and convert the gift into a 5-7 figure business.  Goal Getter LLC also develops non-profit organizations and for profit businesses, offer master classes, business coaching and consulting services and an array of products to help entrepreneurs start and scale their entrepreneurship ventures.

Annette has also published five books:

Ten times more!

The 2nd statistic that y'all have probably heard is that Black women are starting businesses more than any other demographic group.

Welcome to a BONUS episode of the podcast!

On Monday, I realized that I needed to explain what's been going on.

So you guys might have noticed that over the past few weeks, I have been putting out a different type of episode.

The live videos that I'm doing in my brand new Facebook group, The Black Girl Coach Collective, have been focused on coaching specifically.

I was going to hold off on recording an episode like this until my Quarter 1 Review, but I felt like it was important to do that now because there have been so many changes, so you guys aren't completely like,  "What in the world?! What's happening?"

So, I realized that I had two branches of my community, all from the same tree of wanting to be productive on purpose.

Based on my survey and talking to you guys in my community, a vast majority of you want to start a business.

A big part of my community - the first branch - are my women who don't feel that they are able to do that because of procrastination, overwhelm, and imposter syndrome.

The second branch, a smaller but significant part of my community, are my women who have started the steps to walking in their purpose and are a little further along in their journey and are already serving.

They already have a way that they are showing up, either through a YouTube Channel, a Podcast, or a Blog.  However, they have the same feelings of overwhelm and imposter syndrome.

They want to build their coaching business using biblical principles and need additional support to package and position their knowledge and expertise using their unique story by leveraging on their unique story.

This was a great question from one member of our community The Black Girl Coach Collective. You know yourself - shout out to you!

I used to struggle with this question for so long and this led me to Entrepreneurial Procrastination.

What do I mean by that?

I was focusing on getting my website, logo and, branding (and I still don't have a business yet), to be perfect.

Because I felt like I was an imposter. I didn't think I was qualified to do this. 

But I discovered these things that I'm about to share with you...

Phil Jackson, one of the greatest coaches - I consider - wasn't the best of the best players of all time in Basketball. But he coached teams like the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers to win many championships.

You don't have to be a multi-millionaire to be a Business Coach.  You just need to be a coach who collapses years of learning into a short time frame for your clients, so that they can get to their destination faster.

I decided to do an episode on this is because it is a misconception that I held for a long time.

This very pervasiveness concept that I held, and I find when I talk to women - especially Christian women of color - is that we are not allowed to desire things. 

I thought that this was based on Bible verses I had heard over the years.  This could not be further from the truth of the word of God.

I thought that I was just supposed to sit around and God would somehow make all the decisions for me and I forgot to move in my life.

I know that you guys have probably had similar thoughts.

Like, what do I want? I'm I allowed to want stuff? And the answer is yes.

I want to convince you of that today. That you are allowed to want stuff.

Then, I want you to start spending some time thinking about what you want and putting it on paper, writing about what you want.

So writing the vision and making it plain.

Recap: In the 1st episode I defined the Upper Limit Problem and we talked about all the ways it manifests in our lives in the 2nd episode. So things like worry, not accepting compliments, etc.

Today, I want to share with you how you can Push Through your Upper Limit.

However, I will say that you will always have an Upper Limit Problem. Meaning, your unconscious mind will always try to limit you from opening yourself up completely to joy success, and happiness.

It's a constant thing you're going to have to consistently work on.

You can push past that Upper Limit. It does not have to define you. It does not have to be there forever. You can overcome this!

• Becoming aware without judgment
• Increasing your capacity for joy
• Accepting compliments with a single Thank You
• Keeping the promises you make to yourself
