On today's show I caught with Bobby J From Rockaway. Growing up in Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York during the 90s, Bobby was immersed in a plethora of musical inspiration - from his mother’s love of classic rock to his father’s affinity for disco, soul & Motown. . Bobby began his ascent into the industry at the young age of 13 when he met “The Rhythm” rapper Kwame, who at the time had begun his re-emergence in the industry as a producer. Bobby describes his time under Kwamé, who has since sold over 30 million records as a producer, as a period of artist development. “Ultimately, Bobby, whose sound and style are an ode to the era that birthed him, hopes his music can help inspire the imagination of new listeners. “I would like to be one of the artists of today that someone who is 11/12 years old that may just be getting into hip hop can look up to.”

On todays show I caught up with Ange-Michael Mboumbou, also known as Shaadow Sefiroth. He started dancing in 2009. His first dance style was "electro dance", that he approached while in France. It was only in the year of 2010/2011 that he began to practice hip-hop. To better himself as an artist, he researched the elements of the Hip-Hop Culture. This gave him a better understanding of the dance, as well as a respect and deeper love for the art form. Peace, love, unity and fun are all values that hip hop represents, and the values he lives by in his own life.He created a way to understand the dance through martial arts, science and philosophy, all other subjects he enjoyed. He embodies the emotion and energy of music and then transmits it into a physical form.
