  • Mzansi Unpacked EP2: Sipho Hotstix Mabuse on Soweto, The Beatles and Playing Through Apartheid
Music legend Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse takes us back to where it all began: four young Black kids from Soweto who modelled themselves on The Beatles and dared to form a band. He shares what it was like performing during apartheid, when the band wasn't allowed to mingle with audiences and had to get dressed in the kitchen alongside the workers before stepping on stage. A powerful, personal story of talent, resilience and the moment that left him humbled and lost for words. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

  • Mzansi Unpacked EP1: Kenneth Nkosi Gets Real About Leon Schuster, Trevor Noah and Free Speech
Actor and comedian Kenneth Nkosi opens the very first episode of Mzansi Unpacked on the History Channel with honest, unfiltered conversation about South Africa today.
Kenneth doesn't set out to be controversial, but he isn't afraid of the tough topics either. He unpacks whether we've become overly sensitive as a nation, what the conversations around Leon Schuster say about us, and his take on Trevor Noah's rise to global fame.
He also reflects on why he loves South Africa's democracy precisely because it's so loud, why everyone having an opinion is a good thing, and a simple truth about life: people are born and people die. So what should we do? Stop loving?
Funny, thoughtful and very Mzansi. Press play and join the conversation. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com
