The rise of Las Vegas as the most famous gaming center in the world was aided by investments from the mob and its associated cronies including the Teamsters Central States Pension Fund. This infusion of cash often came with an unspoken financial agreement called The Skim. In this episode, we speak with true crime journalist Wayne Clingman, he is co-author of the new book Like An Onion: The Vegas Skim. Wayne explains the many forms the skim could take, who were the recipients, and how the mob always finds a way to make money in the evolving gaming industry.
