In today's episode closing out season 2, I was able to chat with the multi-talented Singer/DJ Myra Washington! From a musical family and daughter to two pastors, Myra shares her journey of coming out of her shell to becoming a well sought after DJ and Performer. 

ABOUT MYRA:

Dj Karma Camille aka Myra Washington has been named one of Music Connection's Magazine Hot 100 unsigned artist. 

The talented Singer, Songwriter, DJ born in Port Arthur, TX home of Janis Joplin and rappers UGK, the eldest of 3 kids that all have a had musical success, As a singer she has performed as a featured background vocalist on Simon Cowell's X Factor USA working closely w Simon, Khloe Kardashian, Britney Spears, LA Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, and Paula Abdul. 

 She performed as singer on countless stages including but not limited to, opening for acts such as Chris Brown, Estelle, Patti Labelle, Macy Gray, Jennifer Lewis, Cedric the Entertainer, Babyface, Ron Isley, Shanice, The Ojays, and Eric Benet and at Essence Music Fest, As a DJ she has worked with some well known celebrities and professional clients including  MAC Cosmetics, DL Hughley, Kevin Hart, Torrie Hart, Shanice Wilson, Flex Alexander, and new comer Major and others to name a few. 

DJ Karma Camille/ Myra Washington has appeared in numerous commercials and television appearances, which has sparked national attention and is currently on an international tour with Prince and Michael Jacksons protég�' Judith Hill. And has recently released the single "Good" on all digital platforms.

Shoana Cachelle is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and host. After graduating from Temple in 1999, Cachelle's career began to flourish as she poured her energy into establishing and developing Cachelle International, a marketing and advertising firm headquartered in Monrovia, Liberia. CI became the umbrella company for her non-profit projects, Cachelle Connection (an organization geared towards promoting and showcasing talent), Cachelle's School Of Promise (a school for orphans), Cachelle Natural Hair & Makeup Salon (a young women's business building initiative), and Cachelle International Creative Arts Center (a performing arts program that also provides scholarships to underprivileged children throughout Liberia).  To add to her already crowded agenda, she also launched a Job Training Initiative (an effort geared to train young males in Business Management, Computers, Photography, and Customer Relations), a Teacher's Training Program designed to train young men and women the fundamentals of early learning and elementary educational skills, and developed the first Creative Arts Preschool in Liberia.  Over the last 5 years, Shoana has provided stable jobs to over 330 Liberian's, hosted over 25 creative arts camp programs for over 1000 children, trained teachers, nurtured performing artists, developed photographers, and currently has started a social media platform (My Sista's Journey), that unites, inspires, and empowers women globally. Shoana recently starred as a lead actor in her first feature film (Providence) directed by Hollywood Director, Roger Bobb along with Van Vicker. She currently lives in both the US and Liberia and travels between the two regularly.

After graduating from college with a Bachelors in Computer Information & System Sciences, Akua decided to revisit her dreams of becoming a Makeup Artist. As a graduate of Bennett Career Institute in D.C. with a concentration in Makeup Artistry, she has since worked on set for various projects including Real Housewives of Potomac, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, Love and Hip Hop NY, Black Opal Cosmetics, Essence Magazine, Redskins.comTV, the Bad Boy Reunion Concert, and served as Key Makeup Artist for the Off Broadway production, Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical. Akua has also worked with beauty brands such as Mented Cosmetics, Danessa Myricks Beauty, AJ Crimson Beauty, Iman Cosmetics, and Stila.

In 2017, Akua decided to dive into the world of education and has been enjoying helping other Artists elevate their businesses, artistry, and become confident beauty pros. The following year she was invited to return to Bennett Career Institute and now serves at the Makeup 101 instructor. Talk about a full circle moment!

In 2019, Akua created the beauty networking community Friends in Beauty whose events serve as a safe space to support like-minded creatives on their quest to connect, network, and build genuine relationships within the beauty community. In May 2020 she launched the Friends in Beauty Podcast where, every week, she and her special guest share the keys to longevity and success in the beauty industry.

Akua's ultimate goal is to be in high demand for various creative and educational projects internationally and to continue to support beauty industry professionals with the tools they need to fulfill their dreams.

Chibuike Franklyn Omeaku, known as Meaku, is a Multi-Award Winning Artist and Producer having been Grammy Nominated and Billboard Charted.
