The Homance Chronicles episodes

  • Episode 216: Hoes of History: Wallis Simpson

Wallis Simpson went from being an American socialite to Duchess of Windsor. What a journey! She was born into money and lived a life of jet-setting around the same time planes were invented. Wallis stirred up plenty of controversy and gossip, especially in her romantic endeavors. Her last name comes from her second marriage, but her third marriage is the one that solidified her as part of the British Monarchy. Lots of cheating, lies and drama in this biography. A little piece of her history is even showcased in Season 5 of The Crown on Netflix.

  • Episode 214: Emotional Eater? Me too. feat. Chef and Author Matthew Gray

Matthew Gray has lived an uncommonly colorful and delicious life. He had an interest in food that started as a kid that ended up taking him on a wild ride to this day. He toured with The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd as a merchandiser and as a chef. He studied at Le Cordon Bleu in London for years before moving to Hawaii. That's when he started Hawaii Food Tours as a "social experiment" to feed, educate and entertain hungry travelers. He's turned the tour into a book, "My Ultimate Eaters Guide," for all the foodies visiting Hawaii. He's also learned through the years that food plays a role in how we emotionally cope and our overall wellness.

  • Episode 213: Hoes of History: Empress Sisi

Empress Sisi of Austria had a turbulent life from the time she was 15 until she passed away at age 60. She's been compared to the likes of Princess Diana due to her love for the people of Hungary and how she was so unfairly treated by the monachry. She suffered from depression, eating disorders, and addiction, but that didn't stop her from bringing Austria and Hungary together to form the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Dual Monarchy. She was obsessed with looks, so much so that she didn't allow any photographs of her face once she was in her 30s. Her children, her freedom, and her life were all taken from her.
