Fertility Chats Navigating Through Lost Hope and the Silly Season with Sarah Willoughby & Liz Walton

In this episode Sarah Willoughby and I discuss how to navigate through lost hope at the end of the year and when we're going through Christmas and the silly season. We wanted to create an episode where we share both of our journeys and reflections. What we've learned and finish off with some wonderful take home tools, for you the listener that may be going through a very difficult time now. Prayer is supports you and hopefully brings peace to your heart.

    Sarah's thoughts.

    1.       Acknowledge all the emotions, they can be huge and overwhelming, this supports the body and nervous system for balance.

    2.       There can be emotions of guilt and shame, again acknowledge them. It is OK to acknowledge these emotions.

    3.       There is such a duality of feelings to navigate through.

    4.       Ask yourself what do I need? To protect my heart, and to have boundaries?

    5.       This can be a good time to be aware of boundaries, for yourself, for your heart, and for your being.

    6.       Sarah reflected on some of her personal journey as well.

    Liz's thoughts.

    1.       Reflecting on Liz’s journey at end of every  year and how I had to change my thoughts or I may lose my sanity.

    2.       The gift of the healing journey.

    3.       We talked about guilt and shame.

Sarah shared a personal story for her.

The fertility journey is not always about getting the baby and getting pregnant. The inner journey and finding happiness within can be one of the main paths to tread.

We talked about what being enough is.

    That you are enough!

    Some questions to ask yourself.

    ·         Why do you really want a baby?

    ·         What will a baby give you?

    ·         What does being a mother give you?

Tools and strategies to finish off the year with.

    1.       Boundaries - setting boundaries can be a lifesaver.

    a.       get clear on what is acceptable for you.

    b.       what is not acceptable for you?

    c.       it is OK to say no!

    2.       Have an exit strategy – If you must go to a party or an event.

    a.       create an exit plan.

    b.       have a think of things that you can do or say, that support you.

    c.       know when it is a good time to leave.

    d.       you can prepare responses in advance just in case people ask.

    3.       Look at connecting with others that are on a similar journey, as these are your tribe.

    4.       Lots of guilt may come up, it is important to protect your heart and I know it's difficult as you don't want to upset others, this can be a challenge. So, it's good to have people that are in your tribe.

    5.       This can be an opportunity to educate others, let them understand the real struggles and share what you need so they know how to support you.

    6.       Create a personal mantra, some words that can support you at challenging times. This can also help to keep you centred.

    7.       Creating your own new tradition, making positive change. This can be fun!

    8.       Meditation is always a helpful tool.

    9.       Journaling your journey.

    10.   Honour your emotions, they are here f

  • Fertility Chat with Louise Siwicki a Personal story of IVF in the W orkplace
Fertility Chat with Louise Siwicki a personal story of IVF, the workplace and finding peace.

In today's episode I talk with Louise Siwicki on her personal story of navigating infertility, IVF, working full time and how she found peace.

Louise was a high-flying business manager for a legal transportation company, working a full-time job and life was very busy.

    Today Louise shares her story,

    1.       In corporate for six years, with a fertility journey in the middle of all of that.

    2.       Did not have much support from her workspace.

    3.       Battled for six years with unexplained infertility, the doctors could find no reason why she was not getting pregnant.

    4.       At 5 1/2 years in she was diagnosed with depression, her mental health was in a very bad place.

    5.       This was a turning point, and it was time to look within.

    6.       She started looking at hypnotherapy, a spiritual path and using acupuncture, to find peace and balance in her life.

    7.       She found she was creating a healthy crew of complementary therapists around her, that can help her in both mind and body.

    8.       She got married, which was a beautiful space to create.

    9.       Roughly a year later she went back to the fertility Dr, had her blood tests and urine tests taken.

    10.   The next day found out she was pregnant.

    11.   This was where Louise really began to understand the mind body connection for healing on the difficult path of fertility or infertility.

    12.   She was very nervous about being pregnant and went back to seek the support from her hypnotherapist and acupuncturist.

    13.   She knew she had family generational trauma to look at and heal.

    14.   She had been bullied badly at school.

    15.   She didn't feel worthy of self-care and had to learn how to love herself.

    16.   She is now grateful for her fertility journey, as it allowed her to heal her past, to find herself, love herself, and welcome children into her life.

    Louise is top tip are.

    1.       Self-care, it's so important to understand how powerful giving yourself time to heal time to be and time to love can be.

    2.       Creating space to find joy, on a fertility journey joy can be difficult to find, so creating joy is so beneficial.

    3.       Go for walks on the beach or in nature, paint sing, something that allows creativity within yourself.

    4.       Allow space to stop and be yourself. Louise loves to do a body scan with your eyes closed and become aware of any tension and breathe love into the body, and notice the body releasing and easing.

Also, Louise has a fertility friends Friday virtual coffee catch up.

This is free to attend, in a Facebook group.

A way of giving back to all those women on a fertility journey to connect, to grow and to realise they're not alone.

    a.       Seeing the fertility journey as a gift, as an opportunity to heal the self. Which then helps us know we are enough to allow our baby to come through.

    9.       Finding alternative therapies

    a.       it's good to find your crew, the people around you who can support you a fertility journey that can support your healing. The journey can be full of stress and anxiety, so it is good to be able to see different therapists to support you at different times.

As a META-Consciousness Trainer, EFT Trainer and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner, he inspires people to stand up for themselves, reach new levels of health and realise their potential to have an amazing life. Tapping and Energy Psychology techniques enabled him to escape from corporate life into doing something he loves and, most importantly to become a dad naturally (twice), after being told that this would be very difficult by his GP.

Sam specialises in guiding people with chronic physical and mental conditions to understand the precise root cause of their illness and then learn how to heal themselves, so that they can avoid years of suffering and wasting £1000’s on trying every cure under the sun. As well as moving to new levels of health, they realise the secrets in their symptoms that can break them free from their conditioning, enabling them to evolve into a thriving life that is truly and richly theirs.

He now spends much of the year living in a beautiful part of Spain with his family and hosts exciting retreats, as well as working online with people worldwide, both individually and in groups.
