Dylan highlights the success that DeBoar had at Washington, however notes that he will now have to prove he can win at Bama and help Alabama continue to live up to the reputation they have had under Nick Saban.

Teoscar Hernandez would be the eventual HR Derby winner, beating out Bobby Witt Jr. Then Dylan touches on the SEC Media Days, which began on Monday, and reacts to Greg Sanky’s comments on the conference not focused on expansion, which Dylan believes there is no reason right now for the SEC “aggressively expand”.

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk as they defeated the Padres on Sunday 6-3 thanks to a two homerun day by Travis d’Arnaud, including a three run dinger that gave them a 5-1 lead. The win also allowed the Braves to win the weekend series with the Padres 2-1 to close out the first half of the season.

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk as they fall to the Diamondbacks 1-0 on Thursday as Max Fried allowed just one run (solo HR) on five hits and struck out seven batters through six innings pitched. Dylan then reacts to postgame comments from Brian Snitker in which he praised Max Fried’s performance in the loss and throughout the first half of the season.

And despite the loss, Dylan notes that the positive to take away is that the offense has remained hot having produced at least five runs in their last six games. However, while it is pretty impressive for Charlie Morton to produce how he has at this stage in his career, Dylan does believe that there should be some concern about the veteran pitcher.

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk as they picked up a 6-2 win over the D-Backs for their fourth straight win with Chris Sale allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out nine batters, giving him five consecutive games with seven or more strikeouts, the second time this season he has done so. Dylan notes that Sale’s performance this season has been one that Braves’ fans should feel good about as the veteran pitcher continues to be better as he ages, comparing his to “fine wine” as it ages.

Dylan highlights the performance of Bryce Elder, in which he allowed three runs on four hits, while striking out one batter, and believes that if Elder can have at least this type of production should the Braves move to a six-man rotation, then the Braves are in a good spot.

Overall as far as the weekend series goes, Dylan believes that the Braves “did what they needed to do” against the Phillies, especially Philadelphia having to be without Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto.
