In the opening hour of the "Hometown Take" Dylan Mathews shares his thoughts on the Braves as they prepare for the second game of their series against the Phillies, talks some soccer with Atlanta United Color Analyst, Jason Longshore, and asks the question, "Should the Falcons look to sign Yannick Ngakoue?"

Dylan is back from vacation and ready to give his thoughts on the Dejounte Murray trade. Dylan asks if the Braves offense will improve once the team gets healthier? Plus, there is a three team trade that could benefit the Hawks right now. 

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk as they picked up 3-1 win over the Yankees on Sunday, taking the series 2-1 having won eight of their last 10 games and making it their third consecutive series win. Dylan notes that Jarred Kelenic, who has been moved into the leadoff spot, appears to be the offensive spark the Braves need as he has batted .324 with three homeruns and six RBI since moving into the leadoff position.

Dylan opens up the show with some Hawks news as it has been reported that they are hiring 49ers head of player health and performance, Ben Peterson as their new VP pf Player Health and Performance. Then in Braves talk, Dylan previews their series with the Yankees which begins tonight and while he believes the matchup should be entertaining, he believes that it is even more important for the Braves to show that they “are really back” after coming back to back series wins and going 5-1 in their recent six game home stand.

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk as they picked up a 7-0 win over the Tigers on Wednesday to sweep the series and ending their six game home stand at 5-1. Dylan praises the offense of the Braves as they averaged 5.1 runs per game in the home stand as it appears that their struggles at the plate at starting come to an end and they are getting some consistency on offense.

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk who kicked off their three game series with the Tigers with a 2-1 win for their fourth win in five games. And while the Braves bats were not as hot as they had been during their series with the Rays, Dylan notes the solid pitching from Max Fried and the bullpen were key in the victory and it was good to see the Braves find a way to get the win.

Dylan opens up the show with Braves talk as they closed out their weekend series with the Rays on Sunday and while they dropped Sunday’s games 8-6, they won the series thanks to Friday’s 7-3 win and Saturday’s 9-2 win. With the Braves bats coming alive in the series, they had a combined nine homeruns, with Austin Riley hitting a homerun in each of the games against the Rays. Dylan notes that it was good and refreshing to see the Braves have the offensive production that they had and hopes to see the momentum to continue as they get set to host the Tigers for a three-game set.

And While it was good to see Atlanta pick up the win, Dylan believes that they have to get some consistency going and take advantage of the “struggling” Tampa Bay Rays and Detroit Lions as they host both teams at home in their next two series. He then reacts to the penalty that the Falcons received for tampering in the free agency signing of Kirk Cousins as they were docked a 5th round pick and fined $250,000

Dylan opens up the show with some Braves talk as they fall to the Orioles 4-2, extending their losing streak to five in a row, which is the first time they lost five in a row since 2017. Dylan notes that frustration lies in the fact that the Braves are not really giving up a lot of runs in these losses, however they are just not producing offensively the way they did last season.
