  • Hoop Talk Ep. 126: The Race to March Madness: ACC Basketball Edition

The start of a BRAND NEW SERIES and our first College Basketball series on the Hoop Talk Podcast! Very exciting and a brand new chapter for HTP, but that also means that we have to start out with a banger! This series is called "The Race to March Madness" where we breakdown 10 of the most prominent conferences in College Basketball.

In this series we will be looking at the Top-7 teams in each conference and also choose a Sleeper team that College Basketball fans should be on the look out for as a potential low-seed threat come March Madness tournament time if they get in.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, we continue this series with the Atlantic Coastal Conference otherwise known as the ACC. With teams like the Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels underachieving this season, teams like Virginia, Virginia Tech and even Pittsburgh have been on the rise within the conference.

Unlike the SEC, the ACC does not have nearly as much NBA talents amongst their ranks, but they do have a handful of teams that look really good as a unit. The ACC looks they have a few dark horses that could make some noise as they look to put the country on notice!

Who are the threats coming out of the ACC? Which team most likely has the ACC player of the year? Who is a team at the bottom of the ACC that could sneak into the NCAA tournament?

We answer all these questions and more! Stay Tuned!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 125: NBA Class of 2020 Rookie Watch

There is a ton of star power in the NBA and a lot has been going on amongst the top teams in the league.

The Brooklyn Nets just acquired James Harden. The Celtics, Bucks and 76ers are all jockeying for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. And the two LA teams, Lakers and Clippers are the only teams with double-digit victories so far this season.

Eyes have been on the established star players so much this year that it almost seems like we forgot about the new influx of rookies that look to be apart of the next generation of great NBA talent.

Of course we know about Lamelo Ball, James Wiseman and Anthony Edwards, but what about the rest of the Rookie Class? On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, the guys take a look at some of the other most notable rookies who have been quietly having a promising season so far! Stay Tuned!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 124: NCAA UnSung Hoopers: Non-Power 5 Conference Edition

When it comes to NCAA Men's basketball, we all know the notable blue bloods. Duke, Kentucky, UNC and Kansas. You even have programs on the rise like Iowa with Luka Garza and Baylor with Jared Butler.

The ACC, SEC, Pac-12, Big Ten and Big 12 have harbored some of the best teams in NCAA history over the years and they tend to be the teams that get all the national love. Here on the Hoop Talk Podcast, we are looking to change that.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, Jay and Ryan share four of their favorite Men's College Basketball players that do not play in one of these conferences. There are a lot of great players across the country and we plan to highlight as many of them as we can here on the HTP! Stay Tuned!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 121: The Race to March Madness: SEC Basketball Edition

The start of a BRAND NEW SERIES and our first College Basketball series on the Hoop Talk Podcast! This series is called "The Race to March Madness" where we breakdown 10 of the most prominent conferences in College Basketball.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, we kick off the series with the South Eastern Conference otherwise known as the SEC. The SEC has a lot going for it this season as LSU might have the most dynamic scorer in the country in Cam Thomas, Auburn just got to see the debut of potential NBA prospect Shariffe Cooper and Tennessee occupies the top while Kentucky is attempting to claw itself up the standings.

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 120: The Race for The NCAA National Player of the Year

Ah the NCAA National Player of the Year. The award granted to the player most consider to be the best player in the sport of Men's College Basketball in a given season.

In year with no clear cut favorite, NCAA.com has narrowed it down to nine guys who legitimately are vying for the award. Luka Garza, Ayo Dosunmu and Traycee Jackson-Davis from the Big Ten. Potential #1 overall pick Cade Cunningham and Baylor Junior guard Jared Butler out of the Big 12. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl out Villanova. And the Gonzaga Guys in Jalen Suggs, Corey Kispert and Drew Timme. Only one can win the award and all nine of these guys have a great case for why their name is in the running.

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 119: Looking Around the NBA #1

After watching just over a month of NBA basketball, I think it is safe to say that we all have at least a decent gauge of how the league is starting to shape out.

The Lakers and Clippers are juggernauts in the West. The Celtics and Bucks have risen back to take their rightful places atop the Eastern Conference. the 76ers and Suns are real threats this year and young teams across the league are showing promise.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, the guys take a look at all the team based storylines across the NBA and point out some of the most intriguing players/teams across the league. Stay Tuned for all kinds of NBA analysis and debates!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 118: NBA Way Too Early Contenders or Pretenders

In my opinion, parody in the NBA has never been as great and entertaining to watch as it has so far this season.

The Knicks are competitive. Charlotte is a top 6 team in the Eastern Conference. The Suns are a top-3 team in the Western Conference. The MVP and MIP awards are honestly anyone's to be had. The league is in a great place in terms of competitiveness. With all this parody across the league, the race for the Larry O'Brien trophy has also become more challenging.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, the guys take a look at six teams and answer the big question: "Contender or Pretender?" It may be early in the season, but we have a large enough sample size to project and project we shall!

Is your team a true contender for the 2021 NBA Championship? Stay Tuned to find out!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 117: Breaking Down the Bottom of the NBA

IN a league filled with so much parody and uncertainty this season, there is no better chance for some of the league's bottom feeding team to finally take the league by storm.

Whether by hook or crook, if there was any season that could tell you a lot about the bad teams in the league this may be the best chance to evaluate. Teams that did not make the playoffs are coming off nearly a half a year of rest and recovery while also potentially improving in the offseason.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, Jay and Ryan look at the bottom three teams in the Eastern and Western Conference last season and evaluate how much they have either gotten better or somehow gotten worse so far in a young 2021 NBA Season.

Who has risen to up from bottom and who is still stuck with the bottom feeders? Stay Tuned!
