  • Hoop Talk Ep. 112: Positional Rankings: Eastern Conference Centers

Entering the 2020-2021 Season the NBA has not seen parody across the league in quite sometimes. You have had the Big 3 in Miami, the Dynastic San Antonio Spurs and most recently the overwhelming talent of the Golden State Warriors. But now the league has become wider open than it has ever been over the last decade.

With that in mind, we finally get a chance to stop homing in on just the top 2 or 3 teams/talents in each conference and really get a good look at some of the amazing talent spread out throughout the NBA.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, Jay and Ryan continue the HTP's 1st edition of the NBA Positional Ranking series by breaking down their lists for the top-10 Centers in the Eastern Conference.

Not the strongest grouping in the Positional rankings series but it definitely has a few standouts like Joel Embiid, Nikola Vucevic and Myles Turner who would qualify as the "big names" at the position in the East. Despite how weak the position is talent wise, it is definitely deep with respectable rotational guys like the Celtics' Daniel Theis and Brooklyn's Jarrett Allen. You ask for it and now it is finally here! The final part of our NBA 2021 Positional Rankings!

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, Jay and Ryan continue the HTP's 1st edition of the NBA Positional Ranking series by breaking down their lists for the top-10 Centers in the Western Conference.

Not the sexiest position to discuss nowadays, but the West definitely makes it a bit more exciting when you get to talk about guys like Nikola Jokic, Karl Anthony-Towns and Rudy Gobert. The Center position is slowly starting to make a comeback with players like DeAndre Ayton and Christian Wood on the uptick as well which means the league is slowly continuing to find a healthy medium between traditional style and small ball. Where do these young, talented Centers rank amongst one another on Jay and Ryan's list? Stay Tuned and find out!

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, Jay and Ryan continue the HTP's 1st edition of the NBA Positional Ranking series by breaking down their lists for the top-10 Power Forwards in the Eastern Conference.

Arguably the most interesting and debatable top-10 rankings in the Eastern Conference. From Jayson Tatum and Pascal Siakam down to Kevin Love and Blake Griffin, the East has some really great talent at the position across the board. Underrated talents like Domantas Sabonis, John Collins and Tobias Harris also fill out the position as under the radar guys you should DEFINITELY keep an eye on this season. But where do all these guys rank on our lists? Only one way to find out! Stay Tuned!

Once known to contain some of the top talents in the game, the Western Conference once had the likes of Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Kenyon Martin and many others. Now the new guard has taken over and the young crop of big men have definitely taken the game to the next level. Guys like Anthony Davis, Kristaps Porzingis and Draymond Green are the standard bearers for the newly defined "Stretch-4" position along with guys like newcomer Zion Williamson who has brought a new finesse flare to the old-school under the rim power forward. Where do these guys rank amongst the pack? Stay Tuned!

Not nearly as stacked at the position in the East as in the West, but there is definitely some up and coming talent that could be a big threat this season. Jaylen Brown, Miles Bridges, Otto Porter and OG Anunoby. Not to mention Jimmy Butler who took the NBA world by storm last season with his outstanding play in the postseason. Oh and guy by the name of Kevin Durant is introducing himself to the East...just in case people still forget that he is a major player in the 2021 Eastern Conference Playoff standings? How do Jay and Ryan think the young guys stack up against Durant and Butler? Stay Tuned!
