  • Hoop Talk Ep. 171: NBA Late-Season Western Conference Breakdown (ft. TVonBasketball)

You know we could not breakdown the Eastern Conference and NOT go through the Western Conference, which might even be more exciting!

The Playoff picture in the West is as interesting as it has ever been as each team from seeds 1-10 in the standings all have a viable chance to be dangerous in the postseason.

Things are exciting out West and you know we have to get into everything from Nikola Jokic's MVP season to the Lakers late season debacles all the way down to the state of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With that being said, we brought the man with the plan, TV host of TVonBasketball, to help bring us up to speed! On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, this is Part 2 of a two-part series breaking down every team in the NBA heading into the final stretch of the 2021 NBA regular season.

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 170: Final NBA Awards Predictions (ft. Ian Evans & Pedro Silva)

In terms of the NBA regular season, we are officially in The EndGame. Less than ten games left in the regular season.

Every night is a fight for position in the Playoff picture whether it is positioning as a Top-6 seed or pushing to make the Play-In tournament. But with this final push towards the postseason also comes a chance for players to make their final stamp on the season.

A chance to prove why they deserve a new contract in the offseason. A chance to be named to an All-NBA team. And of course, the chance to play their way into becoming a potential lead vote getter for one of the esteemed NBA regular season awards.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, we brought on regular guest of the show Ian Evans of "The Impact" and Pedro Silva who is one half of the Hear Me Out Podcast to cast our final votes for the NBA Awards.

We break down the season for the players that are leading the narrative for each respective reward as well as discuss some potential wild cards that deserve a chance at the gold. Definitely a solid episode with a handful of interesting debates (especially regarding Coach of the Year).

Can you believe that we have not covered the 2021 NBA season since April 3rd?! That dates all the way back to around the NBA Trade Deadline!

Now don't get it twisted, covering the NCAA tournament and the WNBA Draft was great, but the HTP was built off of covering the NBA. So we're back at it like a bad habit and TODAY BABY WE'RE talking about the Eastern Conference.

But we of course had to bring in a little help to bring us up to speed. So we had the pleasure of welcoming back Toronto Raptors fanboy and host of the TVonBasketball podcast, TV!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 168: 2021 NBA Mock Draft Lottery Edition and Dallas Mavericks Talk (ft. Lauren Gunn)

Man things are really getting crazy in the world of the NBA.

With the NCAA season passing, prospects across the country are declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft. The NBA regular season is slowly coming to an end and the NBA Draft order is quietly coming together.

Looking across the internet, there are NBA Big Boards and Mock Drafts all over from ESPN and The Athletic to NBADraft.Net and Tankathon. So we got to thinking: Why don't we have our own Mock Draft 1.0 here on the HTP!

This is our first ever mock draft on the pod and we were so excited to do this. But, we of course could not do this on our own.

Making her first of hopefully many more appearances on the HTP, we welcomed Lauren Gunn. She is a writer for Mavs Moneyball on SBNation and the co-host of two Podcasts (The Blue Hardwood and The Gunn Shot) covering her favorite team the Dallas Mavericks and the NBA as a whole.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, we lay out our projection of the first 14 picks made in the 2021 NBA Draft based on the current standings.

We discuss a handful of prospects while focusing on how they performed this season, how they will project at the next level and why we believe they will fit on a specific team.

Then to close out the podcast, it is only right that we talk a little Mavericks basketball with our avid Dallas Hoops fan while we had her on! We get Lauren's thought on Dallas' season thus far, Luka Doncic's MVP hopes and her team's chances in the Playoffs.

Really enjoyed this one as always! Stay Tuned!

  • Hoop Talk Ep. 167: Taking A Look at the 2021 WNBA Draft and WNBA Offseason Grades (ft. Brooks Warren)

We told you we would be covering the 2021 WNBA season and what better way to kick things off than taking a look at the most recent WNBA Draft.

But we could not do this alone. Bringing in his expertise and opinion we of course welcomed our good friend of the show, Brooks Warren of the Hear Me Out Podcast to help us out.

On this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, we react to our fellow Towson Alum Kionna Jeter getting drafted 32nd overall to the Las Vegas Aces.

We also break down some of the most interesting picks made throughout the three rounds. Who rose? Who fell? How will each prospect help their new team? We discuss this and more!

Then to close out the podcast, we reviewed all 12 teams' offseason moves and put a grade on every single teams' offseason! These grades are based who is returning, who they acquired and who they drafted.

This was a really fun one and the first of many episodes to come covering the 2021 WNBA basketball season. Stay Tuned!
