Chances are, you or someone you know goes to therapy. Whether you are depressed, anxious, or just stubbed your toe, seeing a therapist has become so normalized. Is that a good thing? Is therapy really helpful? This week, Angie, an ex junkie & ex therapist herself, talks about how her views & opinions about therapy have changed over the years. She has a Masters degree in Social Work, was a LCSW, & worked for several years as a clinical therapist in Boston, MA. As a therapist herself, she once advocated for therapy. Today, Angie explains how her own experiences with therapy have drastically influenced her opinions about it & whether or not it is actually helpful. She has been on both sides, both as the clinical therapist & the drug addicted, depressed client. Sharing her perspective from each side, she talks about why she thinks the normalization of therapy has ultimately created a bunch of overly sensitive, entitled people in our society today. We Do Recover ox Welcome to the sh!t show :)
