There are many conflicts that we have in life with other people.  But sometimes, the worst  conflict is within ourselves. The Apostle Paul had this conflict. he tried to fulfill the Law to please God but ended in defeat.  The problem was the Law  is spiritual but he is natural. His conflict is our conflict as well. 
So, is there a solution? Yes there is, Jesus Christ.  He did for us what we could not do for ourselves. When you understand this fact, your struggle ceases.

If there is one thing people have a difficult time with, it is dying to self. The self is the sin nature that doesn't want to let go of its control over us. The end result of that is never good. But when Jesus died, He rendered the sin nature powerless over His believers. at the moment of faith in Christ, we died to ourselves and came alive to God.

There are many things in life that can give us joy but nothing compares with being forgiven, and even better, when that forgiveness comes from God.
We have joy from forgiveness because our sins have been forgotten by God. Jesus died for us and made the payment for our sins through His shed blood so God has no reason to hold our sins against  us and for that, we have joy. Blessed are the forgiven!
