  • Are You a Workaholic?

Diane Belz reveals in today's episode the struggles she has with addictions. Both might seem at face value not to be a major issue until you realize what you've lost due to your addictions.

Diane answers these 10 questions from the website https://www.choosingtherapy.com/workaholism/ to determine if she really does struggle with workaholism.

Here are ten indications that you may be addicted to work:

    1. Salience: Is work the most important thing in your life?
    2. Mood modification: Does working make you feel better at first?
    3. Tolerance: Do you need to spend more time working or get more done to feel better?
    4. Withdrawal symptoms: Do you feel uncomfortable when you’re not working?
    5. Conflict: Do you debate with yourself or people close to you about whether you are working too much?
    6. Relapse: Have you tried to cut back on how much you work but failed?
    7. Compulsion: Do you have internal pressures to continue working?
    8. Intrusive thoughts: Do you have random thoughts about work when you are not working?
    9. Disregarding consequences: Do you work to the point where other parts of your life are struggling? Do you ignore the negative consequences of spending a lot of time working?
    10. Filling a void: Is there something that work compensates for in your life that you think is missing?

  • Could Love be the Answer to Addictive Relationships?

My guest Alison Jones might have the solution for addiction - Love!

Alison shares the hopelessness she felt watching two women she loved lose their lives to addiction. As Alison and her parents grappled with hopelessness wondering - what will the end look like. Where's the hope? How could the truth be so distorted?

In this beautiful conversation, we share possibilities and recommendations for seeing your addicted loved ones as they are, not trying to "fix" them but choosing to love them. Making what can seem like an impossible decision to say, "I love you" (as you are) and not trying to change them for who you want them to be.

Realizing we all struggle with some form of addiction and can fall into the trap of feeling my addiction isn't as bad as yours can cause ruined relationships and place us in a state of pride and judgment.

Choosing love is a powerful message that you'll want to listen to and share.

  • From Judgment to Curiosity - How to Bring out the Best in You and Others

Judgment is a natural and normal reaction. You judge so you can stay safe, decide, and determine if you should buy something or go somewhere. These are all judgment calls. Selecting one over another is how you quickly move into action.

Could your judgment be on overdrive? Could it stop you from making 7-second decisions and stick with them when you meet people?

How do you feel when you judge? How do you feel when you become curious? Do you see the difference? What makes you feel more alive inside, which one makes you feel a bit icky?

This is not a judgment; I'm just curious!

  • Think Like a Woman of God

Carol Anne Taylor is the bestselling author of Think Like a Woman of God. She is a speaker and life coach, as well as an accomplished musician and athlete. Carol Anne has coached young people in developing their singing and speaking voices as well as working through their limiting beliefs and building self-confidence.

In 2020, Carol Anne’s life shifted from church music to primary caregiving for her amazing husband, Sterling Procter. His rare muscle disease, Inclusion Body Myositis, has opened opportunities to share the challenges of caregiving while demonstrating the grace and peace of God and the hope for healing.

Having completed over 50 marathons, Carol Anne has learned many valuable lessons that have equipped her to face the struggles of daily living. Her mission is to empower women to pursue a daily relationship with God and to find God’s calling in their lives.

THINK LIKE A WOMAN OF GOD --- 15 Ways to Live Your Faith

Inspired by Cathedral Chorister Sarah Flores, who was celebrating her 15th birthday – Quinceañera.

15 scriptures paired with 15 personal moments in my life.

Memorizing scripture has been an important part of my life. It has been a passion that I am so excited to share and promote now.

What we think about is so important. It leads to mindset/attitude and action.

There are so many choices and distractions in our world today. Knowing God through the Scriptures is a necessity. Discerning the difference between what is truly God’s way or the world’s way. Partial truths are not true.

As a caregiver, I struggle with having the time and energy to care for my husband, to care for a home – cooking, cleaning, finances, upkeep – and then there is self-care. Nurturing my relationship with God is the only way I am able to face daily life.

  • Could Your Marriage Pass the Test?

Do you desire a loving marriage that stands the test of time?

My guest on today's episode, Dave O'Bryan, is the author of an upcoming book "Marriage Maturity" based on his parent's and grandparents' relationships. Close to 200 years' worth of marriage wisdom to share.

Dave's wisdom is rich in love, sound advice, and a celebration of what marriage can be when we choose to mature - together.

If you love a good love story. If you love sound wisdom. If you love celebrating the beauty of God's tests and gifts to us, give this Episode a listen.

Dave has been married to his beautiful bride, Terri, for 40 years. Dave has spent his career designing buildings. He used his parents' and grandparents' wisdom to build a marriage. Both the buildings and his marriage are solid and still standing even through some tough tests.

And because of the tests, Dave has a great testimony about love, marriage, and doing both God's way.

Dave has given a brief exert from his book. Great insights and questions to ask yourself.

    Eight Foundational Mature Truths

    1. Responsibility - I am responsible for making my marriage a success and taking responsibility for my own actions.
    2. Sacrifice - I unselfishly give of myself for the good of each individual and the marriage without record or account.
    3. Attitude - I am careful of what I see, hear, feel, and believe that effects my attitude.
    4. Decisions - Are my decisions Godly? Do I Seek how my decision affects the Kingdom of God? Acknowledge if my decision would hurt or help my testimony. Open myself to be obedient to how God will use me in the decision either way.
    5. Debt - How well do I manage my committed time that takes me away from my spouse?
    6. Love - How well do I show love toward others no matter the instance, cause or sin?
    7. Holiness - How often do I seek His righteousness and truths and act accordingly, distancing myself from sin?
    8. Testimony - Am I living within my means and design of how God created me to be?

    • Responsibility requires Sacrifice;
    • Sacrifice takes the right Attitude;
    • Attitude leads to Godly Decisions,
    • Decisions strive to be free from Debt,
    • Debt freedom opens up a deeper Love,
    • Love pursues Holiness,
    • Holiness leaves a lasting Testimony,
    • Testimony inspires Responsibility

  • Deceived by Doubt - What's Stopping You Living Your Best Life?

Do you want to do more, grow more, live more, and be more but stay stuck in a place you don't want to be? Doubt might be the culprit. Let's dig in to uncover how doubt works and how to break free.

After years of a stop-and-start way of living, host Diane Belz talks about how she is working to break free from her own doubt to live the life she's been dreaming of living.

Doubt can show up in different actions we take.

    • Drifting - rather than intentionally seeking
    • Delaying - looking to perfect or find the "perfect" time
    • Distractions - finding something else to do rather than what you want or need to do
    • Double-minded - believing one day and doubting the next - having us stop and start

Hopelessness can come from doubting God's truth for your life. Don't be distressed. Crush doubt and start thinking and speaking into your dreams.
