If you were looking for a review of 2022’s Prey that wasn’t just a bunch of sexist BS, the gang has you covered today! This isn’t to say there aren’t other problems they’re going to talk about, like how the marketing would have been better if it wasn’t shown as a Predator film, or as a God of War knock-off where Amber Midthunder fights a 500-foot tall alien, but what can you do. The gang gets to the juicy meat of the Predator franchise sandwich (If you don’t count the AvP films) with 2010’s Predators. Featuring 2 Oscar winners and a murder’s row of not quite yet famous supporting cast, it’s a shame the Predators are so unimpressive. At least you’ve got Danny Trejo.

The boys, their thumbs always on the pulse of the horror zeitgeist, spend the month looking at all things Predator related, beginning with a fairly tangential one. In 1986, a young Arnold Schwarzenegger thought he was watching a movie about the Sega Genesis portable game system, but was actually the film debut of John McTiernan. Schwarzenegger was so blown away that he demanded Fox hire him to direct Predator the following year. Good idea? You decide.

After three years away the gang returns to the Lovecraftian holy land of Providence, Rhode Island for another NECRONOMICON. The food, the fans, the firewater, the fun, it’s the Oscars of weird fiction. Well, probably closer to the Tonys, but what can you do. Talk about it, that’s what you can, and what we, do.

It has come to this, a horror movie about a killer pair of pants. And we had to watch it thanks to ol’ JR. Give this one a listen, then let him know your opinions. I wash my hands.

Listeners, for you a review of Come True (2020) to decide if you should view. Damn this film for not coming out in 2022 to extend the rhyme. Sleep studies, vampire teeth, shadow men, but no genies, it’s not that kind of “come true” film.

Collect your Epsom salts and get your sensory-deprivation tanks ready, the gang drops a few tabs of what the kids on the street call “Altered States” before this episode. Whether this 1980’s film is getting a critical reappraisal, or people are just posting more pictures of 7-eyed goats, is uncertain, but it is at least warning us of the dangers of devolving into monkey men or space worm babies. Give it a listen to I feel like you’re being harpooned by some raging monk in the act of receiving God.
