The Horror Project Podcast

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review Scream 4 (2011).

Prepare yourself for a bloodbath as we make our return to Woodsboro for a Stabathon! We'll be diving into the world of VHS, DVD, and other old-school media platforms, stirring up some serious nostalgia for Scream 4 over a decade after its debut.

Let's not forget that mind-bending opening sequence with its film-within-a-film, within-a-film Meta-madness! We'll also be gushing over our newfound adoration for Deputy Judy Hicks and her scrumptious Lemon Squares, because who doesn't love a good snack break during a horror movie?

Get ready for some quirky filters, bumbling police officers, and the clash between the new cast and the original trio. And of course, we can't overlook the jaw-dropping Ghostface reveal that delivers one of the most unforgettable endings in the entire franchise. It's going to be a scream!

Plus we shall be finding a place on the leaderboard for the movie during our Ranking.

We hope you enjoy the show, thanks for listening!

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review Rosemary's Baby (1968).

This week on the pod we are travelling to New York City and moving into an apartment with Mia Farrow and her husband Guy, who begins to experience creepy things happening to her. However, when she gets pregnant she realises that her fears are about to come true.

We discuss living with overbearing neighbours. Constantly popping round with drinks and 'chalky' tasting chocolate pudding! Yuk! We also look at Guy and Rosemary’s marriage and how their relationship appear’s to a modern audience looking back at 60s life.

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review Lake Placid (1999).

This was a first time watch for both us, and it wildly swerved every expectation that we may have had going into it. (We've only waited 25 years to check it out).

With an incredibly strong cast delivering performances which left us scratching our heads, Brendan Gleeson we are looking at you!?! With an odd accent which travels from Dublin to Maine, plus everywhere in-between.

We also discuss Betty White’s disregard for her own cattle and the CGI / animatronic hybrid which creates the giant killer Crocodile. We couldn’t help but compare it to the dinosaur’s featured in Jurassic Park which was released only 6 years earlier.

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review When Evil Lurks (2023).

This week we unintentionally spread chaos, as we discuss the unique way that demon’s and possession are presented in the film. We get to grips with the terms introduced such as ‘Cleaner’s’ and the foul ‘Rotten' (Sorry Uriel).

We chat about the well established rules that the characters in this film seem to ignore completely, from the trigger-happy Ruiz, to the blabber-mouthed Grandmother. And a handful of genuinely-shocking moments that pop up during the runtime!

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review You're Next (2013).

This week we spend some time with the Davison family as they decide to celebrate their wedding anniversary by inviting their four children and their children's significant others to their weekend estate. What could go wrong?

We also discuss the amazing Erin a complete badass, who has a certain set of skills, ideal in a horror movie scenario. We also delve into mask chat, and how practical is it to actually wear something like that during a home invasion?!?

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review My Bloody Valentine (1981).

Love is in the air as we visit Valentine Bluffs a very odd town which is seemingly all about two things, this romantic date in the calendar and mining, so much mining.

We discuss the vengeful wrath of a maniac in mining gear who begins a killing spree racking up some impressive kills in a unique and creepy setting. And a very juicy love triangle at the heart of the film between Sarah, TJ and Axel.

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review Dog Soldiers (2002).

This week we visit the Scottish Highlands as a team of British Soldiers face off against a pack of very tall Werewolves. We discuss the super masculine energy and banter presented in the film, and if it has aged well over the last 20 plus years?

We also fall into the classic debate. Would you rather be a Vampire or Werewolf?

Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Laura and Phil as they review Thanksgiving (2023).

We discuss the American holiday Thanksgiving, and our total lack of knowledge surrounding it. Black Friday madness and those scenes of people going crazy for those big retail discounts. Greed, it turns out is pretty bad!!!

We also delve into 'John Carver' as the hottest new killer on the horror scene. A nimble menace whose not afraid to upload his antics to instagram or a live stream.
