On this week's episode, Matison highlights the benefits of living in major markets like Los Angeles and New York to grow your creative career.  She compares these opportunities to starting in medium-sized markets like Seattle, Chicago and Denver and talks about her experience growing through different talent agencies and working your way up through whatever path you choose.  It's all about location, location, location!  Or is it???

In Episode 6, Matison shares stories from a FESTIVAL!!!  She recently participated in press at The Horsetooth International Film Festival in Fort Collins, Colorado.  An innovative new regional festival with a combination of socially-distanced indoor theater screening and outdoor drive-in viewing, the event was among the small group of festivals creating new ways to participate in-person in 2020.

This festival also included Matison's first film in a festival as an actress and...spoiler alert...first AWARD WIN!

In this week's episode, Matison discusses how to handle rejection, not take yourself or others too seriously in the whirlwind of auditions, and the best way to get gigs to get your foot in the door.

Today Matison discusses safety on set on both sides of the lens.  From professional ethics to personal boundaries, we cover the interaction with everyone on set.  

It's okay for the model to bring someone with them, the photographer should interview everyone from both teams, and use proper communication in both directions.  

Bathrooms, private changing areas, mirrors and other amenities need to be provided.

No un-welcomed touching!  No sexual or romantic interest in a professional setting.  We discuss all the things that should be obvious, but unfortunately aren't to some...including tasty SNACKS and fun on set.  

Be safe and foster the best environment for creativity by following the right standards and never hesitate to ask for help or boundaries.
