Glimpses of the Kingdom: the shrewd manager

Our visiting preacher is Rev Vicky Martin of Union Church Heathfield, as we explore the challenging Parable of the Shrewd Manager and discover what it means to be a steward, not an owner, of God’s resources. The sermon considers how we can use worldly wealth for eternal kingdom purposes, and highlights the scandalous grace of Jesus, who paid the ultimate debt of sin on our behalf.

Windows on the Cross / Glimpses of the Kingdom

Peter Stevenson begins by introducing two complementary sermon series for this term: ‘Windows on the Cross’, which will look at the death of Jesus from different perspectives, and ‘Glimpses of the Kingdom’, exploring the surprising stories found in Jesus’ parables.

In this opening message, Peter draws on Hebrews 9 to show that Christ’s final sacrifice is an expression of God’s prior, eternal love.
