This week we are joined by Dr Diego Garialde from University College Dublin's School of Computer Science. Diego is a leading expert in applying decision making theories to understand why we behave the way we do and how design can influence our decisions. His talk broaches the subjects of gamification, decision making theories, motivation and habit formation, whilst also giving us an insight into how social media uses these techniques to influence our decisions and behaviour. Diego has been Associate Chair for the ACM CHI Understanding People Committee and has recently been awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship to continue his work in the area of decision making and digital interactions.
