Spring will soon be summer in North Texas and most of us want nothing more than to get outside, exercise, move our bodies, play sports again and enjoy the company of others.
That always means there will be some sprains, tears, and even fractures on the sports fields.
Dr. Paul Whatley, Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Specialist at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, joins us with excellent tips and ideas how we can keep our kids (and ourselves) safe as we celebrate new life this spring.
And as our kids are playing, so are the adults. Motorcycles, bicycles, even scooters and lots of walking in high-traffic areas can lead to accidents.
Courtney Edwards, Doctor of Nursing Practice and Director of Trauma Community Outreach and BioTel EMS at the Rees-Jones Trauma Center at Parkland Health System, joins us to discuss safety in all these areas. Awareness is the key to safety and Dr. Edwards always has great tips to help us sharpen our prevention skills.
