In this short series I wanted to talk about what it was like for me to drop out of school to help support my family, what inspired me to start the podcast and HYPR Magazine, and the hurdles that I had to overcome along the way in order to get to where I am today.

One of the toughest journeys that any one of us must face is one of discovering our true selves and getting to a place where we are happy with what we find there. Talking this week with Jake Stika, we got learn what it like for him to go down that path of striving towards self-actualization and how it has led him to where he is now.

Sean's success when it comes to athletics is very evident when one is privy to his extensive list of accolades. Along with coaching at COR.fit, Sean has also applied his background as a National level cyclist to serving him as a spin and cycling coach. He has acted as a brand ambassador for both X Warrior Challenge and Spartan Race Global, along with being featured in IMPACT Magazine and making an appearance on Dragons’ Den.

Both Chris and Shawn started in their fitness journeys quite early on in their lives and were involved in a variety of other aspects before their passion for CrossFit grew into what it is today. Talking with them we got to learn about what it was like to make that transition as well as explore their views on many other topics.

Paul grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan where the entrepreneurial lifestyle was introduced to him at a young age. Like every good Canadian, Paul had originally decided that he was going to grow up to be an accountant and an NHL player at the same time! It wasn’t long after that Paul decided that perhaps that wasn’t what he was best suited towards and ended up starting his own business in 1999.

Eric started out taking the traditional route of going to school and getting his degree so that he may climb that corporate ladder onto success! However, it wasn’t until soon after that Eric decided that the traditional route probably wasn’t the best suited for him to achieve what he desired. We got a special insider glance into Eric’s past and what it was like for him to immigrate to Canada from Hong Kong. From moving around from one house to another, we learned about the struggles he faced while trying to establish who he was and figure out what he wanted to achieve.
