I was away at an AVID conference in San Diego. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. It's an amazing college readiness system that has been in the U.S. for 30 years. It's truly transforming some schools, and closing the achievement gap in many areas.

On my way to San Diego, I finally had a chance to watch the Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy. Wow! Just, wow!

The demons that killed her are the same demons that we all face every day. 

In the day and age where there is a new random act of mass violence every other day (literally), I talk about would could be the possible cause. Do we have a gun problem, or a people problem?

Welcome to Episode 14. It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you. I had to take a week off...to get my mind right. Nah, forreal...Life just got crazy this week, and I literally didn't have a second to put towards the podcast. But I'm back and I'm ready to talk!
