In this episode, I discuss a series of revelations I've had recently. It may sound simple; but it's really not...

I've been chewing on this one for a few weeks. Pastor Battle (shout out to Zion Church) led a sermon where he talked about the keys to successful relationships. One of his keys; and I'm paraphrasing; was that feelings are more important than facts.

It's taken me 3 weeks to process and digest that.

I've talked about fear in the podcast before. 

It's an important topic to discuss, especially when it comes to the fears that we consciously or subconsciously pass to our children.

In this episode I talk about my recent trip as a chaperone to my son's overnight 5th grade trip to Harbargain Farms in Accokeek, Maryland. 

I also discuss the time I was invited to chaperone a trip to Tanzania.

What's good familia!

I ran across activist's DeRay's twitter page, and was confronted with this message:

"I came across someone today who is well-packaged mediocrity. It's stunning how far that combo can get folks..."

It stuck with me. I then became slowly bewildered at how many examples of well packed mediocrity is thriving right now...at my place of employment.

Contrast that with not feeling valued in my job...and what do you get?

This episode is strictly for the fellas...kind-of.

This episode is to acknowledge the regular dudes; the guys that do what they have to do for the betterment of those around them...and to provide a little validation for the decisions that many of us make.

Let's face it...in the current narrative in our country and within our culture, it's a challenge for men to carve out a space to acknowledge the realities that many of face. It's similar to white people screaming about all lives mattering. 

This podcast is a space to acknowledge and validate...a virtual fist bump, if you will...to the dudes out there making things happen without the fanfare of celebration. 

This episode just offers a little validation to the guys making this happen out there. 

That validation, is indeed, everything!

It's pretty self explanatory...

Collectively, we all went nuts when we saw the preview of the Netflix movie Burning Sands; a one of a kind movie that highlights the negativity of underground hazing. (what does that even mean).

Members of fraternities and sororities were talking and whispering about it. Some refused to see it; others rushed to their shared Netflix accounts. 

No one loved the movie. Some people thought it was necessary...others turned their nose up at the extent to which the movie portrayed our beloved organizations.

Chew on this for a while...sit back, and relax.
