It's Election Day everyone! Aren't you excited to give the "best" of us the keys to the worlds largest superpower? Doesn't the field of candidates leave with you brimming with confidence about the direction of the country? Yeah, me neither.
That being said, Election Day is still one of the most important non-holiday days on the calendar in our modern world. It's the day when The People get to decide who runs a government that's supposed to be (in theory) "of the people, by the people, for the people."
So if we're supposed to be represented in our representative government, why doesn't it feel like our vote matters at all? What is our election process supposed to look like?
