The IDP Show

Enough talk... let's draft! After months of discussing the 2024 prospects, we know their landing spots and draft capital. Now it's time to see where they belong in our rookie drafts. To gauge the market value of these players, we put together a crew of drafters from The IDP Show for a 5-round, 1 QB, PPR, Big 3 Scoring mock draft with both offense and IDP (of course). Join Josh as he drafts from 1.03 and Adam as he drafts at 1.12 as we'll take you inside our thought processes while we're on the board. We'll also share the rationale for many of these picks from the folks who made them. If you've got a rookie draft coming up, don't miss this episode! It will give you a good idea of what you can expect.

With the 2024 NFL Draft officially in the books, we can now sort through all the picks and determine the dynasty outlooks for our favorite IDPs. Draft capital is part of the puzzle but so is landing spot -- and that's what we're looking at in this episode. To help with this exercise, the Big 3 welcome back best friend of the show, Jon Macri, to examine the best and worst IDP landing spots from the draft. These are primarily landing spots from Rounds 2-7. For analysis of the Round 1 selections, check out our reaction episode.

Also, be sure to check out Jon's work at PFF and hear his takes on both offense and IDP on the PFF Fantasy Football Podcast.

There's wild, and then there's "first round of the 2024 NFL Draft" wild! As chalky as the first four picks were, we saw some crazy developments with six QBs going in the first dozen picks and no defensive players being selected until the 15th pick. Speaking of that pick, the Big 3 assembled in the Sode Shack right after the first round ended to discuss the landing spots and opportunities for the nine IDPs selected Thursday night: Laiatu Latu, Byron Murphy II, Dallas Turner, Jared Verse, Chop Robinson, Quinyon Mitchell, Terrion Arnold, Darius Robinson, and Nate Wiggins. Which guys have the best chance to contribute in Year 1? Who will require some patience? And how excited are Josh, Adam, and Bobby that the top three edge rushers landed with their favorite teams? (Hint: extremely.) All that and a whole lot more on this episode!

If it's the week of the NFL Draft, then you know it's time for us to check in with one of our favorite guests, Sigmund Bloom, to discuss his annual draft opus, the Pre-Draft Bloom 100. Josh and Adam chat with Sig about how this class stacks up compared to previous IDP classes, how many IDPs will be selected in rookie drafts, players they're not leaving their drafts without, and so much more. Before players start hearing their names called on Thursday, tune in for one final rundown of this IDP class from someone who's seen a lot of them.

With the 2024 NFL Draft happening next week in Detroit, it's time for a MEGA preview. And for that, we call in the big guns. To start things off, the Big 3 welcome fellow Kentucky boy Scott Soltis (aka Professor IDP) into the Sode Shack for a breakdown of the DL and DB prospects who are outliers in the group's consensus rankings. (You can view those rankings here.) After the break, The IDP Show's featured writer and ranker, Mike Wollert, joins the fellas in the virtual Sode Shack to discuss some of the LBs who've caught his eye. (View Mike's top 10 rookie rankings here.)

NFL free agency isn't just about the guys who switched teams the past few weeks. A team's existing IDPs are also impacted by these new arrivals, both positively and negatively. To sort through the free agency fallout, the Big 3 gather in the Sode Shack to run through winners and losers at each position. How are we feeling about Nakobe Dean? What about Will McDonald? Both these guys and many more are covered in this episode. Enjoy!

Free agency might be winding down but there were still plenty of IDP-relevant deals being handed out in the past week. Josh, Adam, and Bobby whiz through their favorite signings from this second round of free agency and highlight some of the soon-to-be values in best ball drafts. After the break, the boys are joined by best friend of the show, PFF's own Jon Macri, to redraft the 2023 rookies. It's 4 rounds, 1 QB/PPR/Big 3 Scoring with full offense + IDP. Which guys rose the highest compared to their 2023 draft stock? And which players plummeted? Tune in to find out!

What a time to be a fan of defensive football! Some massive deals were agreed to during the first two days of the NFL's legal tampering period, and to break it ALL down, the Big 3 reunite in the Sode Shack with full hearts and an even fuller prep doc. Josh, Adam, and Bobby go position by position highlighting the big names who stayed with their current team, those who signed for big paydays elsewhere, and the IDPs who are still out there waiting to be signed. What kind of ripple effects will be felt after this wave of moves? All that and more on this mega-sized episode of The IDP Show!
