The IDP Show

On episode 1 of The Big Game Theory Podcast, Evan gives a rundown of the three major phases in a typical fantasy football season, the individual aspects of each phase, and what questions you can expect to have answered on upcoming episodes.

The Big Game Theory Podcast with Evan Ronda is a show dedicated to breaking down the game of fantasy football at a fundamental level. Game Theory is the logical system of strategic decisions we make every time we do anything in fantasy football, and each decision we make has a chance to give us an edge over our league mates. The BGT Podcast aims to help listeners understand what those decisions are and how they can use them in their leagues.

You know most of the names atop the DB rankings, but from 13-24, this is where things start to get interesting. We have another safety duo from the same team in Landon Collins and Kamren Curl (Washington), as well as a cornerback/safety duo from Indianapolis in Kenny Moore II and Khari Willis. In this group, Josh and Adam also discuss some insane values based on current ADP. If you're looking to go DB late in your drafts, you can't afford to miss this episode, which also includes a breakdown of District 4's rookie draft from the IDP Hunger Games. One of the more interesting strategies the Big 3 has been using this offseason is in regards to drafting DBs: either grab the top three studs or punt the position until the later rounds. Who should you be targeting if you're going stud-heavy? That's what this episode is for! With Bobby out sick, Josh and Adam break down the top 12 defensive backs for IDP dynasty leagues (including cornerbacks). In this discussion, the duo face a couple interesting choices, both originating from the same team: Would you rather draft Xavier McKinney or Jabrill Peppers from the Giants? From the Bengals, you going Jessie Bates III or Vonn Bell? Tune in to hear who Adam and Josh pick, as well as a rookie draft recap for Adam's home in District 2. After you get through the top 12 defensive ends in IDP leagues, you start to see the question marks become more frequent. Do you go with proven older players or roll the dice on young upstarts with room for growth (but also potential disappointment)? How much should you expect from the rookies in their first year? And what exactly is Josh's next book about? All these questions and more are answered in this second installment of the defensive end rankings for IDP dynasty leagues. Josh, Bobby, and Adam also break down the picks from District 3 in the IDP Hunger Games to kick off the episode. Shout out to our patrons Bobby, Jeff, Lorne, Aaron, Tom, and djkelltown! The Big 3 are blessed to be joined in the Sode Shack by two top-notch gentlemen to break down the IDP assets for the NFC North and AFC North. Under the bright glow of a Strawberry Moon, the Big 3 gather in the Sode Shack once more to deliver a June episode that somehow went almost two hours. (Who are we kidding? It takes us 30 minutes to say "hello.") Josh, Adam, and Bobby start things off by hitting the news (what a WILD week for the Shield) before jumping into a Bobbo-centric round of Who'd Ya Get? Then after an ad break to hear about Reality Sports Online and Manscaped, the trio discusses values in Nico's best ball draft (while playing some Buy/Sell/Hold) and then jumps into their new, meme-inspired segment: You're Not That Guy, Pal. (Trust me, you're not that guy.) Shout out to our patrons Bobby, Jeff, Lorne, Aaron, Tom, and djkelltown!
