The immense loss slain botanist Leonard Co left in the scientific community

Listen Later

On November 15, 2010, acclaimed botanist Leonard Co and his companions were shot dead by Philippine Army soldiers who mistook them for insurgents. Thirteen years later, justice eludes the families as legal proceedings linger without resolution.

In this episode, we remember Co’s life and the legacy he left behind for the scientific community. This was from “Leonard Co: A Taxonomy of Justice,” a three-part series of Teka Teka,

with support from Internews’ Earth Journalism Network.
