Established in 2018 as a spin-out from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Kaydiar is on a mission to revolutionize foot care through innovative technologies. David and Heather co-founded the company to address the gaps in current solutions for diabetic foot care. His vision led to the development of the DiaSole and ZeroSole products, designed to help those suffering from diabetic foot ulcers and pressure-induced corns or calluses. These products feature customizable hexagonal mesh frames, allowing wearers to adjust the soles to meet their treatment needs. Heather, with her hands-on expertise in lower-limb biomechanics and diabetic foot disease from both the NHS and private practice, brings a wealth of knowledge to the company. Together, they are determined to improve patient outcomes and tackle the growing health crisis of diabetic foot disease.

Kaydiar is also looking to the future with their groundbreaking PROMorph technology, a revolutionary composite material set to disrupt the podiatry and orthotics industry. This new innovation aims to enhance recovery for patients using casts, braces, and other medically-prescribed orthotics, marking the next step in Kaydiar’s mission to make a lasting impact on healthcare. Professor Chris Griffiths is Professor of Primary Care at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London and Co-Director of AUKCAR.

Chris leads work addressing air pollution and health effects, asthma and respiratory disease, infectious disease including tuberculosis, HIV and hepatitis, vitamin D biology and domestic violence. He has a published over 35 trials and meta-analyses of trials. He leads the NIHR-funded evaluation of the London Ultra Low Emission Zone.

Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh is co-director of AUKCAR , Dean of Data for The University of Edinburgh, and a Research Director of Health Data Research UK.

Aziz is a primary care academic and epidemiologist with substantial research interests in asthma/allergy and in leveraging the potential of health information technology and data science to transform the delivery of care and improve population health.

Chris Borrett was a founder member of the Sydney chapter of Leaders for Climate Action and is now an Investment Director at Mercia Ventures.

LFCA, a subsidiary of the Berlin-based NGO LFCA Umweltschuz e.V, is a membership organisation which gives its members practical knowledge and skills to drive lasting change within organisations who want to achieve sustainability goals.

With nearly 4000 members from organisations such as Spotify, Canva, Soundcloud and Draper Esprit, Chris explains the power of the ripple effect in achieving permanent positive sustainability improvements and how LFCA uses the power of networks to do just that.
