Sean is a stepdad to two kids who are now old enough to be on their own, and we talk about how those relationships change as children grow into adults. We also talk about Sean’s journey from playing music to becoming a barber, how the COVID-19 pandemic affected his career cutting hair, and how he continues to find creativity and self-expression through his work.

We dive into our shared love of music, the importance of challenging yourself, figuring out your next creative project, producing an album for the first time, and Sean’s time playing in Morella’s Forest.

In this episode I talk to Ken Newman, musician, advocate, and founder of Blanket the Homeless.

Ken tells me the story of adopting his son, the ways he learned to advocate for his son, his current relationship with son, and lots of story of being a dad.

A lot of this episode is Ken being extremely honest about the love and emotion and depth he has found from being a dad.  From the stories he’s learned about other people’s lives, to learning to accept love, to being in awe of his son. Ken was really honest about all the journey of accepting and expressing love he’s discovered through fatherhood. 

He’s also quite a story teller.  So get ready for it.
