The devil came against Jesus to tempt Him and try to defeat Him. Yet, Jesus, though weakened by hunger, never gave in to the temptations. Instead, he spoke God’s word from Deuteronomy and defeated the devil. Today, Pastor Bill will encourage you to, like Jesus, speak the word to the enemy to defeat him. Jesus knew scripture, but knowing it wasn’t enough. He spoke it. He declared truth, and the devil couldn’t stand under that. By the power of the Holy Spirit, believe and declare God’s truth and Satan can’t defeat you.

The Devil is often portrayed as a comical being with horns and a pitchfork. Most people don’t give the devil much more thought than that. Yet, as Pastor Bill teaches today, you have an enemy, the Devil. He’s real. He’s deceitful. He’s evil. He wants you for his own. But, He is not God. And because of that, you have great hope. You can stay strong in God to defeat the enemy. Cling to and rely on the Holy Spirit in you and know God’s word to fight the lies of the enemy. You’ll be victorious against Him with God on your side.

Anyone can see that there's evil in the world. And things seem to gradually be getting worse as time moves on. Believers can be tempted to panic, despair, and retreat from the world until the Lord returns. Today, Pastor Bill will encourage you to recognize the evil in the world and instead of fearing it, shine your light in its darkness. As a child of God, you are positioned to help the hurting world with God’s love and light. Fight back against evil with the word of God. The devil will not prevail in the end. God is triumphant!

God’s people have always been under His care. He’s always been sovereign over them. And though they have been disobedient, they are still His people. And from the beginning of time, God disciplines His people, but He is in control of that too. As Pastor Bill teaches today, when God’s enemies try to curse His people, God says no. But that doesn’t mean you are safe and untouchable. The enemy knows that though He can’t curse you, he can tempt you and deceive you. Knowing this, you must cling to God tightly!

When everyday circumstances get in your way or when things come up that ruin your grand plans, it’s pretty easy to get frustrated with God. You blame Him for withholding good things from you or causing your good plans to fail. However, as Pastor Bill teaches today, there may be other reasons God halts your plans and detours your life. He has other things for you. It can be hard to understand it, but you must trust God. When your eyes are open to the other things God has for you, you realize how God blessed you.

Sometimes people pray to God hoping and expecting a specific answer or set of instructions. Yet, when God answers differently than they were wishing, they go forward with their plan anyway. And as Pastor Bill teaches today, God will allow you to follow your plan and reap the consequences, all the while HIS purpose is still fulfilled. Balaam ignored God’s commands but God prevailed, prevented him from cursing God’s people. And God received glory in the end. He can’t be thwarted nor can His plan fail.

After a great act of rebellion, God sent punishment on His people. And that, finally, caused them to see their sin and confess to Moses they’d sinned. And because of this, Pastor Bill explains today, God gave them a way to be saved. This salvation mirrored what Jesus would do to save people many years after this time in the desert. The people only had to look up to the snake on a pole to be saved. Today, people have to look up to Jesus on the cross and believe that it will save them, and it will!

God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt and for 40 years in a desert. But the people disobeyed God. They complained and grumbled to Moses and made his life hard. And eventually, Moses had had enough. He disobeyed God and lost his temper against the people. And it was that one act, Pastor John explains today, that caused God to ban Moses from the Promised Land. God expects so much from teachers, pastors, and leaders. If you’re in that role pray daily for patience and help to lead well. It matters to God.

It is so common in churches today for the pastor and leadership to hear grumbling and complaining constantly from the body of believers. Satan plants irritations in a person and lights their tongue on fire. They complain to anyone who will listen, and often become jealous and irrational to the leader. But, as Pastor Bill explains today, God appointed that leader and He’s called you to support, love, respect, and assist that person as best you can. You will honor God as you treat those in leadership in this way.

The past couple of years have been hard on people. Anxiety and depression are rampant. There’s so much going on in our world and it can make your heart balloon with worry and fear. Well, today, Pastor Bill urges you to remember that God wants more for you than that. He wants you to rest in His peace. When you give God your worries, He’ll pour out His peace on you. You’ll discover that it will transform your perspective and keep your heart from being overcome by the fears and the worries of the world.
