You know when you tell your children to say that they’re sorry to each other…and they say “I’m sorry” but you can tell that they actually don’t mean it. In the Bible, Jesus wants you to be free from the burdens of forgiveness and bitterness and the only way to be set free from those burdens is to honestly forgive those who have wronged you. Some people believe that Christians shouldn’t be wealthy…that having wealth will not help them to learn contentment and trust in God. But actually, it’s not bad to have wealth…the problem is when you flaunt your wealth and think that you are better than others because of what you have. In today’s message, Pastor Bill will explain that in these verses, the rich man didn’t go to hell because he was a rich man…he went to hell because he didn’t believe in Jesus as his Savior.

How does it make you feel when you see people spend their time and money on those who you think don’t deserve it? In these verses, Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees about their hearts – on the outside they look so righteous and religious but in their hearts they are selfish and judgmental. Today, Pastor Bill will ask you what your reasons are behind why you serve others or donate your money…is it so people will think that you are spiritual and religious? Or are you doing it because you love God?

Some people boast about all of the wealth and success they have in life…maybe even giving God the credit for blessing them…but then they keep everything for their own enjoyment and have no desire to share it with others. In today’s message, Pastor Bill will encourage you to think about how you can use your wealth and talents for God. What can you do with what God has entrusted to you…specifically your wealth…to make friends with people around you, so you can share Jesus with them?

Are you content enjoying the wealth and resources you have worked hard for? Or do you see a need to bless others with what you have? In today’s message, Pastor Bill will explain that one day you will be accountable to God for the things that you did here on earth - do you understand and acknowledge that everything you have is God’s? And are you choosing to use it to share the gospel with others? Or do you want to keep it for your own personal pleasures?
