Do you ever feel hopeless? Like, there are some problems in the world that just don’t have a perfect solution? Well, Pastor Bill reminds you today that all of the evil and conflict in the world today can be traced back to the rot of sin in the human race. When people begin to turn their lives over to Jesus and allow His power to transform them from the inside out, things start to change. Maybe the world’s problems are too great for humanity to solve, but Jesus will make everything brand new in the last days.
The best academic writers are those who are able to back up their words with reputable sources. They include footnotes to direct you to where that person pulled their information from. And Pastor Bill teaches you today that the Bereans did the same thing to the Apostle Paul! When Paul and Silas were sharing the Gospel with them, the Bereans went back to the Old Testament to see if their claims lined up with God’s Word. Just like those Bereans, you should verify every teaching you hear against Scripture.
So many questions in this world have uncertain answers. Questions about philosophy, ethics, and sometimes even theology, can provoke hours and hours of debates that don’t always lead to a resolution or agreement between parties. But Pastor Bill teaches you today that there is one source of absolute truth that can be trusted, and that is God’s Word. The Spirit of God moved in the hearts of the writers of the Bible, and those inspired words provide a guiding light for believers today.
Everyone longs to have safety in something or someone. We can go to money or our spouse, but in the end, nothing will keep us as safe as the love of the Father. Today, Pastor Bill says if you find yourself in the blood of Jesus, you’ll always be safe. This doesn’t mean you’ll always be happy or never have questions towards God, but you’re promised you’ll always be safe. Run to Christ today and find safety in His arms. He loves you and wants you to trust Him wholly so He can comfort you in every circumstance.
Humility is a hard thing to grasp. It’s a lot easier for us to be prideful because it comes naturally to us. Today, Pastor Bill says God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. How can you be more selfless in your life? If you ever need an example of how to be selfless and humble, look at Philippians 3. The passage talks about Jesus’s humility towards you. He was humble to the point of death on the cross, so that you can be saved. How awesome is it that God sent His Son as an example for us of humility!
Life’s unfair; there are plenty of things that make that a reality. Wouldn’t it be awesome if there were a God who could bring justice to that statement? Today, Pastor Bill says everyone is held accountable for their sins. We all sin. You’ve probably sinned within the past hour! You need the hope of Jesus to help you have a relationship with God. He sent His son so you can be with Him for eternity. Jesus paid the penalty for your sin! Trust in Jesus today and allow Him to change your life from the inside out.
The Bible is a powerful book. It gives strength to the weak, hope to the hopeless, and peace to the restless. Today, Pastor Bill says if we take the Bible out of our lives, we’re nothing more than another voice to a world full of voices. When you speak with the power of the gospel, you’ll find most people will start to listen. If they don’t listen, they aren’t rejecting you, but they’re rejecting the word of the Lord. Find your confidence in scripture and be empowered with confidence through the words of the Lord.
We love to be able to control our destiny. Whether it’s through manipulating things to our benefit or even bringing people down, our hearts always want to control every part of our lives. Today, Pastor Bill says we must remember that God’s in control. He has supreme authority over all, which should give you confidence as you walk in your day-to-day life. In everything you do, God’s in control and knows what’s going to happen before it happens. He loves you and wouldn’t put you through anything you can’t handle.
From a young age, we can tell that everyone is born selfish. We want things that benefit us, and sometimes, that can blind us to thinking of others. Today, Pastor Bill says we must follow the wisdom from God’s word overall. When you trust in the word of the Lord, you allow Him to guide your every step. You’ll gain confidence knowing that every action is within His plan and not your own. Your natural desire is to follow your heart, and sometimes that deceives you. Trust in God’s plans for you today!
This world will tell you that you must climb the social ladder and gain popularity. This is so backward from who the Bible says you must be! Today, Pastor Bill says you can’t control what other people do, but you must control your thoughts and hate covetousness. According to scripture, those who hate covetousness will have abundant lives! Even if everyone around you is seeking more, ask yourself, “Do I need more, or am I okay where I’m at?” Covetousness will always lead you down a path of discontentment.
