We often find ourselves leaning a bit too heavily on God. We often think that He will initiate every decision for us. With that mindset, you might find yourself kicking back and trusting that everything will be handled by a higher power. Is that really how it goes? In today’s message, Pastor Bill shares the importance of planning for every little thing in life. When you take the time to plan out every little detail and invite God into the mix, you'll find that He guides you to adjust your plans to align with His purpose!
Have you ever seen a Disney movie? It seems like nearly every story revolves around that familiar theme of the main character unraveling, whether it's due to their own flaws or the challenges they face along the way. Yet, they always manage to dust themselves off and rise above it all. Today, Pastor Bill explains what it truly means to be a righteous person. Satan might throw everything he has at you to bring you down, but rest assured, God is right there to lift you and give you the strength to rise again!
How many times in the history of the world has some atrocity been committed, and no one was there to speak up about it? Have you ever seen something wrong, and wondered whether or not God wanted you to get involved? Today, Pastor Bill reminds us of God’s COMMAND to rescue the perishing. First, we need to save those who are perishing without Christ. But second, there are others we see who are in trouble. God has placed you in a unique position to be a part of His plan to care for every person.
Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you have an opinion about something, but it’s just not worth it to say it? Maybe people are arguing about sports, or politics, or something at work. And you’re just feeling too “blah” about it to speak up. Who really cares what you have to say, anyway? Today, Pastor Bill shares his powerful testimony about how God gave him something to say. And God has given you that same message. Through your words, someone else’s eternity may be changed.
If you watch just about any movie where somebody dies, almost without exception, they end up going to some kind of “good place”. It’s an almost universal assumption that we’re all pretty nice people and we deserve a nice rest–in–peace. But today, Pastor Bill reminds us of the gospel: ONLY those who trust in Christ for salvation will spend eternity with Him. So, you have an opportunity in this life, that can have eternal consequences. Through God’s Truth, you can rescue someone who’s perishing.
Who’s in charge of your life? Is it your mind, your will, your heart? Or your desires? It can be difficult to live in a world that’s super-saturated with appealing advertisements for food, alcohol, and sensuality. How can anyone make it through this life, spiritually intact? Today, Pastor Bill explains from the book of Proverbs how worldly appetites are warring against our souls. But, you can overcome all of these temptations through spiritual discipline, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the grace of God.
When you go to read your Bible or listen to a Christian message, what are you expecting? Have you already decided ahead of time what you want to hear? And what you don’t? Today, Pastor Bill encourages us to always come to the Word of God with an open heart. True, you may not like what God is saying. But you have to ask yourself: do I want to hear what I want, or what God wants? God’s Word will encourage, strengthen, empower, and also challenge and convict you if you’ll let it.
It’s easy to get so completely immersed in living in this world, that we forget there’s something coming after. Everything here feels so solid and “real”, while the matters of the spirit can seem veiled and remote. But Pastor Bill reminds us today that the future is always closing in. God has graciously given you thousands of days on earth. And there’s a lot to take care of in this life. But there’s something much greater to keep in the front of your mind: be sure to live your today in the light of your eternity.
Have you ever gotten into a really heated debate on social media? Do you post, post, post your opinions on everything, on every platform? If so, Pastor Bill has a pearl of wisdom for you from the book of Proverbs: Stop it! Yes, there is great value in having a meaningful conversation with someone you know – someone who will respect your words, and whose words you’ll respect. But it’s a real trap to go back and forth with someone who just likes to argue. Choose your conversations wisely.
Have you ever lived in a city where the home football team was going to the Super Bowl? Or the baseball team to the World Series? If so, then you know what the word “ZEAL” means! But today, Pastor Bill asks us to think honestly about what we’re really zealous about. Is it your job? Maybe it’s your awesome spouse or your amazing kids. It could be your brand-new car – wow! Well, hopefully, those things aren’t the most important. Above all, your zeal for Jesus must take the absolute first place.
