The Inconsolables

Bethesda, at this point, why are you bothering? Fallout First somehow managed to turn a shambles of a game into an even more broken mess. We got Majickman - who has actually spent a decent chunk of time playing that broken mess - to have a chat with us about the overall debacle that is Fallout 76.

We also talk about all the delays that hit this week, and about The Outer Worlds - and why it makes MrsL so damn angry!

Oh dear, the politics are happening in the vidya gaems again! Blizzard is bowing down to China by banning people and taking their prize money for speaking out about Hong Kong. So you must boycott Blizzard to show them what for! Y’know provided it isn’t too inconvenient to you. But like maybe think about it doing it please?

First off, please welcome our new host! MrsLlante is joining us on a regular basis - yes, the Chaos Crew is now permanent!

Secondly - this episode is a little odd due to it being PAX and all. Much like last year, we've recorded a series of audio diaries as to what we've been doing during the show! Check it out!

PAX is coming up! Much hype, very excite! Wow!

So we talk about what we're keen to see at PAX, both gamewise and panel-wise (as well as the stuff we're involved in). We also get into the anti-union jerks in the industry, some clean breaks away from jerks in the industry, and much more!

Also, we not-so-subtly tease an announcement for next week. Har.

Sony and Microsoft are jumping on Nintendo's bandwagon, both hosting their own little video promotional things off this week. So the boys are all assembled to dissect all the upcoming Playstation and Xbox titles!

Otherwise the Fallout 76 curse descends again, Call of Duty still sucks and so much more news that really shouldn't surprise you in the least.

News:

| Fallout 76 Helmets are all mouldy | Call of Duty has a 1 year Playstation-exclusive mode | Mario Kart Tour has a $5 monthy subscription for 200cc | Shenmue 3 backers can request steam keys. No Guarantees tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Andrew's been on a bit of a goose-fuelled bender, so Sammy and Paul are holding down the fort on their lonesome today! And the topic of discussion this week? Roadmaps. Yes, those things you used to use to find your way around when driving.

I remember the good old days where children could play video games, when they were wholesome.

Well this week we hone in on one reason games publishers can't be trusted to just make fun things for people: Gambling. NBA2K20 is a mess of casino basketball stuff. We also look at the UK inquiry into the topic.

Somehow, we've been doing this for 3 years. Somehow, we haven't killed each other over it!

In this extra special episode that was initially stream on Twitch, we have a look back at some dumb things we said, we talk about that videogame "movie" what Adam Sandler did, we do a lengthy Q&A session, talk about upcoming changes to the show, and run the first edition of our new segment: Backlog Busters!

It's a fun time all around! Enjoy!

In which most of the news is very upsetting and difficult. Devs are being homophobic, Game developers are having a #MeToo moment (which is good, but not fun to report on right?), and then there's other good news up in the mix I suppose.

News:

| Ion Fury Devs are childish idiots | Alex Holowka, Zoe Quinn and an angry mob | A smattering of other dev abuse stories | Telltale is getting revived, or is it? | SUBtember | WoW Classic has fans queueing up to play | NBA 2K20: MyTeam Trailer is basically monetisation porn | Rainbox 6 Siege | Dropmix is over | Aladdin & Lion King games getting remastered | Little Hope | Untitled Goose Game – 20-Sep | Yakuza 7 is turn-based?! |

The Chaos Crew is in full force this week, as MrsLlante rejoins us to talk about her meat. No, seriously. I refuse to elaborate on this.

Beyond that stupidity, there's plenty of other stupidity to talk about! Epic exclusivity (and certain devs refusing it), what the buzz is about Minecraft nowadays, ratings confusion, and much more. Get in there!
