If you keep getting up you are winning. We are only competing against ourselves. The only way to lose, or to fail is to just give up.

Be the person to everyone else that you want to always work with. Be likeable. Be genuine. Nobody wants to work with someone who is unlikeable.

Let's talk about getting paid. We know that when we are starting out as filmmakers and actors, we do whatever we can do tomeet other filmmakers. This means doing a lot of work for free. What about after we've been in the biz for a while? Should we only work to get paid? Should we ever take work for deferred pay? What about love projects?

Don't just think out of the box, live out of the box. This difference here is when you think out of the box for a particular situation, it can become forced. When we live out of the box, creativity is a part of who we are and flows more organically.

When we realize what our limitations are, we are free to be totally creative withing our means.

If you want something done, do it yourself. Waiting for someone to help us, or validate us is a waste of time. We don't need anyone to partner with us to get something done. If you have someone who believes with you, then that is powerful. We just don't need to look for that person for us to get something done.

As indie filmmakers, we are responsible for the success of our projects. We don't always have the resources for out PR, but we already have a PR team. Everyone involved in your fil is a part of your PR team.

Traditional distribution vs. self distribution. Why it just makes sense for the indie filmmaker to self distribute.

We rob ourselves and stifle our creativity when we are focused on something that we don't have, such as budget. Let's focus on what we do have which is our talent, and our creativity.

Trust your instincts. Be yourself, and let the creativity flow. We all have instincts, and sometimes it means taking a bold risk to follow them.
